You Know You’re A Christian When …

It appears that many folks who consider themselves Christians do so based on the common modern day interpretation of what constitutes Christianity. You may be a classic seasonal Christian who dutifully buys Christmas presents, and celebrates Easter with colorful eggs, jelly beans and chocolate bunnies. Or maybe you are a casual Christian, you go to church services on a Sunday now and then. If you’re a practicing Catholic, then you go to confession every now and then too, but at Easter for sure. Or perhaps you think of yourself in a general sense of Christianity, a decent person, a gentile that Christ came to save, rather than the Jews, who are those “Old Testament” people. If asked about it, you’d be sure that the wise men brought their gifts to baby Jesus in a manger in Bethlehem, which is why we exchange gifts on his birthday, December 25th. This is common Christianity as practiced in the 21st century, is it not? Yes, it is. But, is this the Christianity of the Biblical record delivered to us by Christ and the apostles in the first century? No, it is not.

Our regular readers of this site know that the Biblical record states very clearly in Matthew, chapter two, six times in seven verses that Christ was a young child [Greek, paidion, not a baby, brephos], living in a house [Greek, oikia, not a manger, phatnē] when the wise men presented their gifts to him as a king. Even the first verse in Matthew 2 is very clear. “Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, in the days of Herod the king, behold, the wise men from the East came to Jerusalem.” It was after Christ was born that the wise men of the East first showed up in Jerusalem, not Bethlehem. And they inquired around town, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews?1 For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.” And when they did head off to Bethlehem, they were looking for a young child in a house at that point, not a birth day baby in a manger. It’s plain to see, then, barring the fact that the lot of them had Alzheimer’s, they weren’t in Bethlehem at the time of his birth about two years earlier. [Mat. 2:16-18Mat. 10:34].

The biggest celebration in "Christianity" is 100% based on a lie. Think about that. Think about our current day circumstances and all the lies spewed at us daily. [John 8:44, 45]. This raises the question, likely an uncomfortable one. If something this simple and so straightforward is false, what else is askew with commonly accepted 21st century Christian theology? It also raises more fundamental questions, from the Biblical record’s perspective, do I have the love of the truth of the word of God, am I a Christian? And perhaps even more profound, do I need to be?

When we know the glorious truth of Biblical Christianity, and what has been promised to us by our Father in heaven though his Son, Jesus Christ, then our informed answer should be a resounding YES! It would be foolhardy to answer otherwise.

So let’s take a little journey into the Biblical record’s Christianity, as delivered by Christ and the apostles, rather than our corrupted modern day version, to see where we stand. Think of it as a pop quiz before the upcoming apocalyptic final exam. At the end, we’ll provide and explain the answers. But first, see how you do.

You know you’re a Christian when …

You can name and explain the basic tenets of Biblical Christianity as put forth by the apostle Paul.

You know what the mystery is that Christ revealed, and can explain its significance.

You know who it is that Christ was sent to redeem and why.

You know why the Jews are only a small part of Biblical Israel and NOT all Israel.

You know who Easter is.

You know what the Biblical holy days are, and their significance for us in the Christian age.

You know who are the lost sheep of the House of Israel, and why it is they were lost.

You know why, according to the Biblical record, Jesus was Jewish and why Moses wasn’t.

You know the three temple ages, and can explain their significance for Christians in the plan of God.

You know from the Biblical record’s perspective what the promised reward is for Christians, and that it’s not going to Heaven for eternity.

You know when life in the flesh, and the Spirit begins, and can provide examples from the Biblical record.

You know why the love for the truth of the word of God, and living it in our lives is so important, again according to the Biblical record.

Given the times we live in, with the fast approaching events of the “Apocalypse,” and if you have a holy curiosity, you can verify for yourself these important facts of Christian theology.

You can name and explain the basic tenets of Biblical Christianity as put forth by the apostle Paul.

As Paul delineated to us, “Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on to perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptism, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgement.” [Heb. 6:1, 2].

Paul spelled out the foundational tenets of Biblical Christianity upon which we are to grow daily towards perfection through the Spirit of God within us. As a group, they should be common knowledge for anyone who is a Christian. Individually, we should be able to explain them as they relate to our everyday Christian lives. But, our modern day version of Christianity is better equipped to name Santa's reindeer.

It starts with repentance from dead works. Repentance means to change. We need to change from dead works, which are simply the things of this life that have no future in them, like Santa and his reindeer, and jelly beans and bunny rabbits. Moral turpitude, the celebration of pagan holidays, the love of the wealth of this world for example, qualify quite readily. We need to seek first the power and authority of God in our daily lives. [See Mat. 6:25-34].

Faith towards God means a conviction of the truth when it comes to the word of God as found in the Biblical record. Faith is not some ethereal belief in something unproven or unsubstantiated. Faith is being convinced of the truth [Greek, pistis], and putting it into action in our lives. Hence, faith without works is dead. Aeronautical engineers are convinced of the truth of the effects of gravity on heavier than air flying machines. So, they design aircraft in faith, at least using the Biblical record’s definition. In the larger sense, it is the conviction of the truth of the word of God delivered to us by Christ and the apostles. This Christian conviction transfers to our daily habits in life.

The doctrine of baptism is an act of faith. It is the conviction of the truth of God telling us what process is needed for us to follow in order to be born of God with the Holy Spirit, which opens the door to our inheritance, eternal life. It follows the previous two tenets. And once we are immersed [Greek, baptismo], and raised up to have the laying on of hands placed on us, we receive the Spirit of God. [See Acts 8:14-17]. Our mortal bodies no longer are alive by the spirit of man, the breath of life we took at birth. “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” We are born, again. [Rom. 8:11, NKJV]. It's all part of the plan.

Theologically, the resurrection of the dead occurs twice in the Biblical record. At the return of Christ, the first resurrection. [1 Ths. 4:16-18]. And at the end of this heaven and Earth, which is called the Great Resurrection of all those who have lived. They are judged either to eternal life on the new Earth or eternal death. This is the eternal judgement. [Rev. 20:11-15].

Once we have these tenets firmly in place in our daily lives, then we are to grow towards perfection as Christians. For more about this, see the Sneakers article, Name Those Tenets.

You know what the mystery is that Christ revealed, and can explain its significance.

The mystery here that Christ revealed was kept secret from before the beginning of time. That is, before our universe was created. What Christ revealed was a key part of the plan of God for us, not just in the Christian age, but in all the ages yet to come. Even the prophets of the Old Testament, who penned some of the clues in the writings, had no idea what it was. There is no mention of life after death, olam ha ba, in the Torah.

What Christ revealed was the redemption and promise of eternal life, salvation, to all those of Israel, specifically the lost sheep of the House of Israel in this age [Heb. 8:10], not the gentiles of the world. The promise of redemption to eternal life was unheard of until revealed by Christ, first to the apostles, which is why he spoke in parables [Mat. 13:34, 35], who in turn revealed it to those of the House of Israel on that first Pentecost day after the resurrection of Christ in the first century. [Acts 2:36-38].

As the apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthian church, "... the wisdom we speak of is the mystery of God — his plan that was previously hidden, even though he made it for our ultimate glory before the world began." [See 1 Cor. 2:6-16, NLT]. This subject is a key part of what makes up the writings of the New Testament. For an in-depth look at this, read the Feature article, And It’s Still A Mystery, and the Sneakers article, What About Everyone Else?

You know who it is that Christ was sent to redeem and why.

As we noted at the top of this article, most Christians have fallen prey to the false idea that we are gentiles. Nothing could be further from the truth. It is the foundational lie upon which our modern day Christian apostasy is based. Like Matthew 2 above, we have another plain statement ignored by current day Christianity. Christ said in Mat. 15:24, “I am sent only to the lost sheep of the House of Israel.” And he said this to a gentile woman. This fact is lost on us for a couple reasons. One, our reading comprehension levels are well below SAT standards as noted previously with the wise men showing up at Christ’s house, and not at the manger. And two, we have no idea who in the world are the lost sheep of the House of Israel. Some might guess they are Jews. But Jews are the House of Judah, not the House of Israel. The indigenous Christian nations of the West are the House of Israel today. [See the Feature article, Moving Forward].

Also, Christ is the savior, the Redeemer of the House of Israel. We are his people. [Isa. 63:7, 8]. Ironically, in prayers spoken in Christian churches we hear, "We ask these things in the name of our LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen." So while we acknowledge who is our LORD and Savior, we don't know who his people are. That would be us, the redeemed [Greek, exagorazo, payment of a price to recover that which was lost] children of the House of Israel, because our ancestors were divorced by God in the 8th century BCE. In order for the majority of all Israel to receive their eternal inheritance, the House of Israel needed to be redeemed. For more details, again see the Feature article, And It’s Still A Mystery.

As we read in Mat. 2:18, at the time of the wise men from the east visiting Christ as a young child living in a house, "A voice was heard in Ramah, weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children; and she refused to be consoled, because they are no more." This is quoted from Jer. 31:15. Rachel was wife to Jacob/Israel. She had two children of the 12 that make up the sons of Israel. See Gen. 49. Rachel's firstborn son, Joseph in turn had two sons, Manasseh And Ephraim. Israel blessed them and they became the firstborn sons regarding the inheritance and birthright of all Israel. [See Gen. 48, 1 Chr. 5:1, 2Ruth 4:11 and the Feature article, Is The US, And Great Britain, In End-times Bible Prophecy?].

And while the quote above, Rachel weeping for children which are no more, is written in the context of the children in the area of Bethlehem being murdered by Herod. In the larger sense, it refers to the ministry and purpose of Christ's first coming. He came to redeem the lost sheep of the House of Israel [Mat. 15:24], not the Jews of Judah. The royal or kingly line of the House of Israel is through Joseph's son Ephraim. Divorced from God for their idolatry, beginning in 732 BCE, and now outside the covenant with God, and their birthright inheritance, the House of Israel was taken captive by the Assyrians, and scattered throughout their empire.

In Isa. 7:8 we read, "Within sixty-five years Ephraim will be broken, so that it will not be a people." And sixty-five years later, the last of the children of the House of Israel were removed from their land of Samaria. “And the king of Assyria [Esar-haddon] brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria [the historical land of the House of Israel], and dwelt in the cities thereof.” [2 Kng. 17:24]. The House of Israel ceased to be a people. As we read above, Rachel weeping for her children because they are no more.

Thus, right here in Matthew 2 we have the Old Testament tied to the New Testament, and the reason for Christ's first coming. He came to redeem Rachel's children back into their inheritance, including all those of the lost sheep of the House of Israel. [See the Feature article, The Good News Colour Revolution].

You know why the Jews are only a small part of Biblical Israel and not ALL Israel.

The Jews are only a small part of Israel, the House of Judah part. They are one of Israel’s 12 sons. [See Gen. 49; and Map]. After the death of Solomon, who had been king over all Israel, the kingdom of Israel was split into two entities. The House of Israel and the House of Judah. About 732 BCE, the House of Israel was divorced from God. That left only the Jews, the House of Judah in the Old Covenant relationship with God. It was this way until the first century when Christ, Shiloh, broke the covenant made with all the children of Israel [Gen. 49:10], hence the good news, the redemption of the House of Israel by Christ, and the new covenant of promise. [See Zec. 11:10-12; also the Feature articles, The Tale Of Two Covenants and again, The Good News Colour Revolution].

However, today the House of Judah and the House of Israel are under the thumb of the ruling elites, primarily descendants of Esau/Edom, Zionists, the minions of the New World Order who are out to regain the birthright they sold millennia ago to their brother Israel. The Ukraine situation is another manifestation of their globalist goals. See Gen. 25:27ff. See chapter six, page 185ff, The Genesis Birthright, in the book, The Blind Man's Elephant, for details.

You know who Easter is.

You may be surprised that Easter is a who, not a what. Most Christians think that Easter is an event, the resurrection of Christ. She isn’t. Easter is the anglicized name of the Near Eastern pagan spring goddess of fertility, prostitution, i.e., harlotry, and war, Ishtar according to Bede, an 8th century historian, and "Doctor of the Roman Church." Ishtar was the apex female deity of ancient Babylon. She is the goddess of Babylon the Great in Revelation. “And upon her forehead a name was written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.” [Rev. 17:5]. “… And exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast [Babylon, Dan. 2:24-45], whose deadly wound was healed.” This is who deceived "Christians" celebrate each year. And Christ is not pleased with us about it. [Rev. 13:12; see the Feature article, Revelation 17: Big Brother, The Beast Of Babylon].

Have you noticed that people will ask, "What'd you do for Easter?" But they never ask, "What'd you do for Christ?" Celebrating a day in honor of Easter is worshiping the first Beast, Babylon. A ruse by any other other name …. For more details, see the updated Feature article, Easter, Babylon, And The Antichrist and the Sneakers article, Who Inflicted The Beast’s Deadly Wound].

You know what the Biblical holy days are, and their significance for us today.

Chances are most folks are so indoctrinated in the false traditions of Christmas and Easter, that one, they have no idea there are Biblical holy days meant for Christians [see the Feature article, What Days Must Christians Observe?], and two, they are clueless as to their relevance in our world today that directly pertains to them. The plan of God is outlined in the holy days given to all Israel about 4000 years ago. "... the wisdom we speak of is the mystery of God — his plan that was previously hidden, even though he made it for our ultimate glory before the world began." [1 Cor. 2:7].

Events in the New Testament, the Days of Unleavened Bread, which began with Christ's sacrifice as the Paschal Lamb for the forgiveness of sin, Pentecost, the day on which the Christian era began with the gift of the Spirit of God, and the Feast of Trumpets that marks the return of Christ, which Christians look forward to, are all holy days given to all 12 tribes of ancient Israel. They are sign posts telling us what God has done and will do. And they are in effect in our Christian age. The next one to be fulfilled is the return of Christ.

For a relevant look at the holy days, see the book, The Hijacked Elephant, a complimentary download on the bottom of our Home page, and the Feature article, The Relevance Of The Holy Days In The Plan Of God In The Last Days.

You know who are the lost sheep of the House of Israel and why it is they were lost.

The lost sheep of the House of Israel are the nations of Israel/Jacob minus those of Judah, the Jews. The Zionists of Israel are not descendants of Israel, but his brother Edom/Esau. [See Rom. 9:13]. Today, we have national identities again as spelled out in Genesis chapter 49. See the Feature articles, Ten Horns, Ten Nations  and Is The US, And Great Britain, In End-times Bible Prophecy?

The House of Israel, to whom Christ was only sent Mat. 15:24, was lost for their turning away from the love of the truth of God and following after heathen gods and practices, particularly with trees and pagan goddesses of fertility. Sound familiar? It should. "Christianity" has an affinity for pagan customs with trees and goddesses today. [See the updated Feature article, Our Corrupted Compass]. We read in Jer. 3:6-8. “The LORD said also to me in the days of Josiah the king: Have you seen what backsliding Israel has done? She has gone up on every high mountain and under every green tree, and there played the harlot. And I said, after she had done all these things, ‘Return to Me.’ But she did not return. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it. Then I saw that for all the causes for which backsliding Israel had committed adultery, I had put her away and given her a certificate of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear, but went and played the harlot also.”

The House of Israel was divorced from God, and taken captive by the Assyrian Empire beginning in 732 BCE. Our ancestors remained in this divorced condition until Christ’s first coming to redeem us. Again, see the Feature article, And It’s Still A Mystery.

You know why, according to the Biblical record, Jesus was Jewish and why Moses wasn’t.

In order for the House of Israel to be redeemed back into their promised inheritance, the good news or gospel, someone of Israel needed to be that person as Paul explained in his letter to the Roman ekklesia. This is why Christ was born in the flesh as a descendant of the House of Judah. They were the only tribe of Israel still in the covenant relationship with God in the first century. Christ was our kinsman Redeemer, all in accordance with the laws governing inheritance in ancient Israel. [1 Kng. 8:53; Isa. 47:4]. He broke the law covenant and gave us a new, better covenant built on better promises. [Gen. 49:10Heb. 8:6; again, see the Feature article, And It's Still A Mystery]. That is, as our kinsman Redeemer, he was a descendant of Abraham, Israel and David. [Rom. 1:1-6]. And neither Abraham or Israel were Jewish. They were progenitors, not descendants, of Judah.

Moses, while a descendant of our patriarch Israel, was not Jewish. He was of the nation of Levi, the priestly line of Israel, and not of Judah. “For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Judah; of which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood.” [Heb. 7:14].

For more details see the Feature article, Why Was Jesus Jewish, But Not Moses.

You know the three temples ages, and can explain their significance for Christians.

"As for you, Ezekiel, son of man, describe to the House of Israel [this excludes the House of Judah, the Jews] the temple that they may be ashamed of their iniquities; and they shall measure the pattern ...” [Eze. 43:10].

There are three temple ages in the pattern of the plan of God. The first temple was the temple built by Solomon in the Old Testament during the age of the law covenant. It contained the mercy seat and the ark of the covenant. It was a "brick and mortar" temple. That temple was destroyed by the Babylonians due to the Jews apostasy after the House of Israel had been divorced from God and taken into captivity by the Assyrians. [Eze. 23:22-35; also Rev. 11:19]. The 2nd "brick and mortar" temple, or the Edomite Herodian temple, which never had the ark or mercy seat, was completely destroyed in 70 CE exactly as Christ told his disciples in Mat. 24.

The second temple in the pattern is that of our bodies when we have the Spirit of God dwelling in us as Christians in the New Testament Christian age. “What? Don’t you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit that in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own?” [1 Cor 6:19]. The Beast of Babylon the Great would love to destroy this temple. But as the nations of the House of Israel, we are destroying ourselves from within by following after the false traditions of Christmas and Easter exactly as the prophecies tell us.

The third temple is on the new Earth, the new Jerusalem after this Earth and heaven have passed away. “And I saw no [brick and mortar, or flesh] temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.” [Rev. 21: 22]. The three temples mark three distinct times in the plan of God for us, Old Covenant, New Covenant, and Kingdom of God.

No doubt, this probably is completely foreign to you. But it’s all part of the plan from the very beginning, thousands of years before the Christian age, " ... the works [which] were finished from the foundation of the world." For more details, see the Feature article, Three Temple Ages Make A Plan.

You know what the promised reward is for Christians, and that it’s not going to Heaven for eternity.

The promised reward for Christians is not going off to heaven to live for eternity. It is being kings and priests in the kingdom of God ... on the new Earth. "Now I saw a new heaven and a new Earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away." [Rev. 21:1]. “And has made us kings and priests to God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” [Rev. 1:5]. "And has made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the Earth." [Rev. 5:10].

This is all tied together throughout the Biblical record. The idea of going off to heaven to party for eternity after we die is largely attributed to Augustine of Hippo, of the Roman church in the fifth century. However, for a lot more detailed look at this common modern Christian misunderstanding, see the two Feature articles, Heaven Can Wait and Heaven Can Wait II.

You know when life in the flesh, and in the Spirit begins, and can provide examples from the Biblical record.

The answer is very clear and plain to understand like Matthew 2, and Matthew 15:24 above. The reason is that the answer when life begins in the flesh is so straight forward and simple to understand that an 8-year-old can handle it. For some reason, however, many adult Christians and pastors can’t.

“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” [Heb., chay, living; nephesh, soul, a breathing creature, Gen. 2:7]. Life is at first breath. And Adam is not a special case either.

This, however, upsets some folks who are “pro-life,” anti-abortion. While we may be against abortions for moral and other reasons, some of them evil and Satanic, we cannot use the Biblical record as a hammer to claim it is murder. It’s not.

And as for having birth, and life in the Spirit of God, the apostle Peter said, "Seeing you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit to unfeigned love of the brethren, love one another with a pure heart fervently: being born again [Greek, gennaō ánōthen], not of corruptible seed [the flesh], but of incorruptible [the Spirit], by the word of God, which lives and abides for ever. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower thereof falls away: but the word of the Lord endures for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you." [1 Pet. 1:22-25]. The point is, both life in the flesh, of the dust of the earth at first breath, and of the Spirit from God in heaven, i.e., born again, begin with a birth, and not a conception.

Please see The Blind Man's Elephant, Chapter Three, p. 105ff, for a Biblical discussion of this subject. It is a complimentary copy at the bottom of the Home page. Also, see the Feature article, Life In The 'hood and the Sneakers article, Biologically Irrefutable, Guv'nor?

You know why love for the truth of the word of God, and living it in our lives is so important, again according to the Biblical record.

The key point to understand in these last days of the last days is, “And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness [wicked lies] in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: that they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” [2 Ths. 2:10-12]. And we wonder why so many seemingly intelligent people believe the plandemic lies. [See the Feature articles, Why Do We Believe The Lies? and The Risk Of Loving The Truth].

The events we refer to as the "Apocalypse," which will make the 2020 coronavirus "pandemic" look positively welcomed, are summarized in the above statement. If we have a steadfast love of the truth of the word of God, we shall be saved. If not, then we will be damned. This is pretty blunt, harsh language considering the source. Bottom line, the time has come to put Santa, and the Easter Bunny into permanent quarantine, distance ourselves from the lies and deceits, and live our lives wearing the whole armor of God rather than a face diaper. [Eph. 6:10-16].

The preceding points above, “You know you’re a Christian when …” all come down to this one point. As Christians, do we have the love of the truth of the word of God? If not, we accept and find joy in the fables, lies and myths, refusing to change our ways. This is why we find ourselves in this "covid" predicament. If the above information were part of our daily Christian lives, the Fauci, Gates, Schwab, Rockefeller et al families would not have one iota of power over us. It appears, then, that only the merciful grace of our Lord will provide us a way out from under this evilness. Connect the dots. Then do your part as a Christian with the love of the truth of the word of God.

Having come to the end of this article, we should be sure that it’s not the end of the line concerning our Christian way of life. While it may appear to be a daunting task to make adjustments and changes in our customary ways, we would be wise to repent of our dead works. This is, after all, a basic tenet, ground zero, of being a Christian.

“Hear you therefore the parable of the sower. When any one hears the word of the kingdom, and understands it not, then comes the wicked one, and catches away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that hears the word, and anon with joy receives it; Yet has he not root in himself, but endures for a while: for when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, by and by he is offended.

He also that received seed among the thorns is he that hears the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.

But he that received seed into the good ground is he that hears the word, and understands it; which also bears fruit, and brings forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” [Mat. 13:18-23].

You know you’re a Christian when you “Come to me [our Redeemer and Savior], all that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” [Mat. 11:28-30].

It truly is.

"For you are bought with a price, therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit which are God's."
