Updated: Obadiah And The Prophetic Parable Of The Tares
Over the years we have posted quite a few articles dealing with the prophetic circumstances of the House of Israel, Biblically, the indigenous Christian nations, where we are today, and what the prophecies tell us about Big Brother Zionists, Esau/Edom, the sixth head of the Beast of Revelation, Babylon the Great. The emphasis has been on the House of Israel, and the birthright sons of Joseph, Ephraim, the UK and Manasseh, the US [see 1 Chr. 5:1, 2; also Gen. 48], because during the past 2000 years, the last days, we have forsaken our birthright, our covenant and the true gospel as delivered by Christ and the apostles in the first century. Our current events bear witness to this fact many times over. However, the hand of God severely will be put upon Edom, Israel's physical brother [Gen. 25:23-26], prior to Christ's return. The prophetic parable of the tares in Matthew and the prophecy of Obadiah speak to Edom’s fate, and our involvement in it.
The parable of the tares is prophetic in nature as it has a timing element. That timing event is referred to as the harvest, which begins, and then culminates at the return of Christ, and the first resurrection. [See chapter five, Christ's Return ... As we read, “But every man in his own order: Christ the first-fruits, afterwards those who are Christ’s at his coming.” [1 Cor. 15:20-23; also Col. 1:18; see reference to the first resurrection, Rev. 20:4-6, the annual holy Sabbath day of Trumpets; also the Feature articles, The Relevance Of The Holy Days In The Plan Of God In The Last Days and Heaven Can Wait].
The Tares
Let’s read the parable of the tares as spoken by Christ in the first century. The parable is in Matthew chapter 13.
Verse 24: Another parable put he forth to them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened to a man which sowed good seed in his field:
Verse 25: but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
Verse 26: When the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
Verse 27: So the servants of the householder came and said to him, Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?
Verse 28: He said unto them, An enemy has done this. The servants said unto him, Will you have us go and gather up the tares?
Verse 29: He said, No, lest while you gather up the tares, you root up also the wheat with them.
Verse 30: Let both grow together until the harvest [the return of Christ]: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. Mat. 13:24-30.
The Greek word used for tares in Matthew is zizanion. According to Thayer’s Greek Lexicon, a tare is “a kind of darnel [Lollum temulentum], a bastard wheat resembling wheat except that the grains [upon sprouting, bringing forth fruit, v.26] are black” as opposed to golden brown for the good wheat. It isn't until the "bastard wheat" Edom [aka Khazars by many, Zionists, though not descendants of Judah] "sprouts" [see John 8:44, Rev. 3:9; Edom, The Khazars], when it gains dominion over all the Biblical nations of Israel, prior to the culmination of the harvest, the return of Christ, that they openly will distinguish themselves from the children of Israel. This is why Edom is largely unknown by its Biblical name now. [See 2 Ths. 2:7-12; also Tare Season and Sowing Tares Worldwide].
Recall earlier in Matthew 13 that Christ’s apostles asked him why he spoke in parables. He told them, “Because it is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them [meaning the descendants of the House of Judah, the Jews during this age, and Edom, the tares who were mixed into the House of Judah by the first century] it is not given.” [See the Feature article, And It’s Still A Mystery]. After the multitudes were sent away, and they went into the house, “ … his disciples came unto him, saying, ‘Declare to us the parable of the tares of the field.’” The parable of the tares is a prophecy primarily concerning the House of Judah regarding Edom’s dominion according to the Genesis 27 prophecy, and the Babylon the Great prophecies in the Book of Revelation. And while Edom now has dominion over the House of Israel, it will not regain the birthright inheritance, for it is of the Spirit and promise of God, and not attainable by the works of flesh. This fact is lost on Edom. Edom is stuck with an outdated mindset reminiscent of the Old Testament, which no longer exists. In some of our previous Feature articles we discussed that Esau/Edom had dominion over Judah, the Jews, the fourth born son of Israel, beginning in the first century. The same situation exists today. It is becoming more obvious in our current events. Please read footnote1 before continuing. [See Rev. 3:9; also see the updated Feature article, Little Horn: First Century Antichrist]. And it was Isaac who passed on the seed line birthright and inheritance of promise to his son Israel, rather than to his "son of the flesh," Esau. [See Rom. 9:6-13]. By the time the events of Revelation 13 occur, Edom, the tares, will be known to all. Babylon the Great’s reign over Judah from Jerusalem, and by extension over the survivors of the House of Israel, will last for 42 months prior to the harvest of the first-fruits.
In response to his disciples' request concerning the tares, Christ answered, saying,
Verse 37: He that sows the good seed is the Son of man;
Verse 38: the field is the world [The word world here is the Greek, kosmos. It is God’s plan, an orderly arrangement, the same as used in John 3:16; see the Feature article, Three Temple Ages Make A Plan]; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one [specifically a reference to Edom. See Mal. 1:1-4, Rom. 9:13, John 8:44; please note that the word world, kosmos in Greek, does not refer to people];
Verse 39: the enemy that sowed them is the devil [Rev. 3:9]; the harvest is the end of the world [The word world here is the Greek, aion. It means age. Thus, this is referencing the end of the Christian age, the end of the last days up to the return of Christ]; and the reapers are the angels.
Verse 40: As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. [aion, age].
Verse 41: The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
Verse 42: And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Verse 43: Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who has ears to hear, let him hear. [Mat. 13:36-43].
Now let’s turn to the Book of Obadiah, which is only 21 verses long. Obadiah, circa 765 BCE, is considered an Assyrian period prophet. Remember, it was the Assyrian’s that took the House of Israel captive, beginning about 732 BCE, which was our ancestor’s purging. [See the Feature article, Damascus A Heap Of Ruins]. However, Obadiah in his 21 verses mentions another time in his future, c. 605 BCE, when the Babylonians carried away the House of Judah for 70 years as captives too.
But the primary purpose of Obadiah is an end-times prophecy concerning Edom. It is a prophetic reflection of the parable of the tares, providing the names and circumstances spoken of in the parable. Also, the prophecy in Jeremiah 49, verses 7-22 make many of the same points as we find here in Obadiah. If you haven’t already, it would be good to read the Feature articles, Isaiah 63: Big Brother, The Prophetic 21st Century Antichrist, and Revelation 17: Big Brother, The Beast Of Babylon, as well as chapter six in The Blind Man’s Elephant to help you better understand Obadiah. While there are historical instances contained both in Jeremiah 49 and Obadiah regarding Edom, our focus here is on the prophetic aspects of Obadiah as it pertains to the parable of the tares, which also could be called the parable of the end of the Christian age just prior to the return of Christ. [Zionist Tares].
Obadiah
Verse 1: The vision of Obadiah. Thus says the Lord GOD concerning Edom; we have heard a rumor [Heb. shemuw’ah, report, tidings] from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent among the nations [Heb. gowy, equivalent of the Greek ethnos, nations]; arise, and let us rise up against her in battle.
The nations referred to here are the ten nations of Israel including the House of Judah [see Gen. 49], the ten horns mentioned in Daniel 7 and in Revelation 12, 13 and 17 that in the end rise up against Edom. The word ambassador is the Hebrew word tsiyr. It is used here as a messenger on behalf of God. When it is time for them to rise up against Edom, it will occur. This happens prior to the return of Christ, the harvest in the parable of the tares. [See Rev. 17:16-18; also the Feature article, Revelation 17: Big Brother].
Verse 2: Behold, I have made you [Edom] small [in number, i.e., the "1 percenters"] among the nations [Houses of Israel and Judah]: you are greatly despised.
While their Biblical identity is not commonly known by those of the House of Israel today, they are greatly despised. This verse provides the motivation for verse one's "let us rise up against Edom in battle." Recall from Genesis 27:28, 39, that according to the blessing passed on from Isaac, Edom lives among the Christian nations of Israel, and in Judah, tares sown among the wheat, "Behold, your dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above ….” And it is also said that Edom shall live by the sword today (including the covid needle), that is all things military including promoting and profiting from ongoing wars, and the potential threat thereof, i.e., Russia, China, Iran et al. [See Gen. 27:40]. The nations of the world despise the West's military meddling and wars, profiteering in the name of national security on behalf of Zionist Israel. Diplomacy is a lost art, but the art of deception, war [Zionist Israel Mossad's motto, Rule By Deception], is alive and well in the propaganda halls of Zionist mainstream media. The first two verses of Obadiah also are written in Jeremiah 49, verses 14 and 15 in context of addressing Edom. While the actual numbers of those of Edom are small compared to the nations of all Israel [numbering about 1 billion, give or take], they are disproportionately despised for their evilness. In the process, they have perverted the name of Israel, making it a curse for those of the Houses of Judah and Israel. [See Isa. 65:15]. As it reads, Edom is " ... of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie." [Rev. 3:9; see the Feature article, Why Do We Believe The Lies?; also see video, Edom].
Verse 3: The pride of your heart has deceived you, you that dwell in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that says in his heart, ‘Who shall bring me down to the ground?’
These elites, these arrogant atheist princes, have outwitted themselves in terms of their sense of infallibility due to their ego and pride exalting themselves above the House of Israel. These families assume their world ruling goals are firmly in their grasp. It is in their pride that they stumble by the hand of God.
We see this similar attitude displayed by the Beast in Daniel, except he shall exalt himself above God. “And the king [of Babylon the Great] shall do according to his will and exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished [the purging of Israel is finished, i.e., 42 months, Rev. 13:5, after which comes the rising up against Edom in battle mentioned in verse 1]; for that that is determined shall be done.” [Dan. 11:36].
This also echoes Edom’s mindset, which we find in Isaiah 63:1, “ … glorious in his apparel, traveling in the greatness of his strength. I speak in righteousness mighty to save.” In truth, their goal is to kill all the descendants of Israel. Initially, they are doing this surreptitiously, like gradually turning up the heat to boil a frog. Eventually, the pretense will be dropped. As to their dwelling in the clefts of the rock, we should not expect to find Edom living like little hairy troglodytes. [Gen. 25:25, 27:11]. Rather, as this references the end of our age, it is a modern reference to their places of business in skyscrapers, living in high-rise penthouses, flying around in private jets, etc., lofty perches of power and wealth from which they oversee their quest for a one world government. In the smug pride of their heart, controlling the world’s economy through central banks, inflicting damage with the excuse of covid, and with their political hegemony, they think, “Who can bring me down to the ground?” Big mistake. They should be mindful of Proverbs 16:18, “Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall.” [See Isa. 14:12-21; Rev. 13:4].
Verse 4: Though you exalt yourself as the eagle, and though you set your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down, says the LORD.
The eagle and the stars refer to the US. While those of Edom aren't the House of Israel, they exalt themselves with the pride of their heart as the real rulers, the elites, the princes of the US who are in control. It is what is referred to as the Deep State or the Swamp, including those infesting various branches of goverment. It is from the US that the fall of Edom begins by the hand of our LORD. And it ends with the fall of Babylon the Great In Jerusalem. Remember, the House of Israel are Christ's people. He rules in our nations, and not those in these evil families who may have the perception that they are in control. In due course, beginning with these events, the prophecies culminate with the return of Christ. If we look at all the nations of the "Christian" West [UK, Germany, France, Italy, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, et al] all of them appear to be firmly in the grasp of those in this evil network, much like a crime family. The US has been the lone impediment until now, with control over the reins of government through a stolen election. Today, Edom is wasting the economic might [including covid economic shutdowns, massive deception and fraud] and the power of the US, Manasseh, UK, Ephraim in the Old Testament [see the Feature article, Is The US And Great Britain In End-times Bible Prophecy?], to achieve its goal of a one-world government as Klaus Schwab, head of the WEF tells us.
And prior to the emergence of Babylon the Great, due to our ignoring the truth of the word of our LORD, the children of the House of Israel will be given warnings. This is near to taking place now. "But they refused to heed, shrugged their shoulders, and stopped their ears so that they could not hear. Yes, they made their hearts like flint, refusing to hear the law and the words which the LORD of hosts had sent by His Spirit through the former prophets. Thus great wrath came from the LORD of hosts. Therefore it happened, just as He proclaimed and they would not hear, so they called out and I would not listen,” says the LORD of hosts. But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations which they had not known. Thus the land became desolate after them, so that no one passed through or returned; for they made the pleasant land desolate.” [Zec. 7:11-14]. This applies to the lands of the collective West. Bottom line, we are the cause of our current predicament. But we can turn ourselves around to the truth of the word of God, and forsake the heathen practices that have been incorporated in the Church of Rome's theology.
The symbol of the US is the eagle. [Note the formation of the stars above the eagle on a US passport, Passport Stars, again see Rev. 3:9]. Therefore, to the world, Edom exalts itself with the power of the US. Edom is controlling the levers of power [i.e., the Deep State] in the US, and in the UK and the Western Christian countries to bring this about. But as we're told, " ... from there I will bring you down, says the LORD." The beginning of their fall will start in the States and the West, the House of Israel, and culminate with the House of Judah, by the hand of our LORD.
As history professor Carroll Quigley noted in his epic book, Tragedy And Hope, Edom [though Quigley does not use this term] seeks to gain dominion over all the "habitable portions of the world" by infiltrating "university life, the press [mass media, A Former Insider, Major News Outlets Are Zionist Organizations], and the practice of foreign policy." It’s all about fulfilling the prophecy in Genesis 27 of gaining dominion. An illuminating side note: the US military’s Pentagon has divided up the Earth’s land-mass and oceans for gain. Read Dan. 11:38, 39; then see the *CENTCOM Map. The US Department of Defense has taken down this map at least twice that I am aware of. See command centers map. Please note that the header US CENTCOM is placed over Israel on this map, which would give the casual observer the impression that Israel is included. But, it's not for a reason. Zionist Israel is, now was, the only place on the planet not included in a US Pentagon command center. The absence of Israel was noticeable in the previous Defense Department map. But, as you can see on this CENTCOM map, Israel is missing. [Missing]. And Israel is not included in AFRICOM or any other COM map either.
Update: Maybe it was getting too obvious, or now the timing is right for their plans, so the US in 2021 under Biden moved to include Israel in CENTCOM, "a theater-level Unified Combatant Command unit of the U.S. armed forces." Real question, who joined whom? Is the Pentagon's combatant command unit now a part of Israel or vice versa as they claim? Remember, Babylon the Great is HQ'd in Jerusalem. However, how does one "bring" a sovereign nation into the Pentagon, ostensibly a department of the US government? And did the Pentagon invite all the other nations of the world to join their AORs as well, or went ahead and did it anyway? How did they convince the countries east of Jerusalem, Russia, China and Iran, to come into the Pentagon constellation? Of course, they didn't. And now the Fair New World Order is bringing Schwab's and the Western globalist bankers NWO to an end as the prophecies in Micah tell us. From all appearances, with the Biden administration, the pieces officially are getting in place leading to the prophetic Syrian war as Ukraine and Taiwan will be no go's. "JINSA [the Zionist Washington-based 'Jewish' Institute for National Security Affairs] argued that such a [Zionist led] network could lead to the creation of a region-wide missile defense network with shared early warning alerts. The cooperation could include steps to disrupt the Iranian proliferation of advanced weapons to its proxies, which target Israel and US forces, and pragmatic Sunni states alike, a central member of the regional anti-Iranian alliance.
This geo-poilitical mother lode also includes the ancient Biblical lands of Idumea [Edom] and its capital Bozrah, and Babylon. Israel, including Jerusalem, the great city mentioned in Revelation 18 that is destroyed in one hour, was the only place on the planet excluded from US combatant command areas. And for good reason. According to the prophecies, the seat of the sixth head of the beast will be in Israel. Of course, the Trump administration recognized Jerusalem as the sole capital of Zionist Israel, paving the way for Babylon the Great. None of the previous five empires, the five heads of the beast in Daniel chapter two, not the Babylonians, the Persians, the Greeks, the Romans or the Ottomans had Jerusalem as their capital city. Only Edom, Israel's brother, Babylon the Great, the sixth head of the beast, fits this prophetic description.
“And he [Babylon the Great] shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas [the Dead Sea and the Mediterranean] in the glorious holy mountain [Jerusalem, the capital city of ancient Biblical Israel] …” [Dan. 11:45a]. “ … yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.” [Dan. 11:45b]. This is the reason why US President Trump's now fulfilled desire to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem has such prophetic portent. And it is interesting to note that the US is losing influence with both Russia and China. It may be that our last days prophetic compass is pointing more and more towards the last big push in the Middle East.
It is from their lofty world ruling roost in Israel that God will cause Babylon the Great to come crashing back down to Earth at his return. “And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the Earth, so mighty an earthquake, so great. And the great city [Edom’s Jerusalem] was divided into three parts [see Rev. 11:11-13; also Jerusalem Earthquake], and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give to her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.” [Rev. 16:18, 19].
Verse 5: If thieves came to you, if robbers by night, (how are you cut off!) would they not have stolen till they had enough? If the grape gatherers came to you, would they not leave some grapes?
If thieves and robbers came by night, how you are cut off. In Hebrew this is damah, which references how Edom will perish or be destroyed. As we read in Revelation 18, Babylon the Great is destroyed in one hour, unannounced as a thief in the night. Also see Rev. 14:17-20.
But the point here is that even robbers and thieves don’t take everything. At the time of the harvest in ancient Israel, they were instructed to leave something for the poor and the travelers. “And you shall not glean your vineyard, neither shall you gather every grape, you shall leave them for the poor and the sojourner: I am the LORD.” [Lev, 19:10].
Verse 6: How are the things of Esau searched out! How are his hidden things sought up!
However, all these things that the Rothschild et al Edom are doing in secret, hidden away from the eyes of the world, their secretiveness will boil over, bulging out from their hiding places to be seen. For the time being, they have built a secret hidden empire. As US President Woodrow Wilson observed about 100 years ago, “Some of the biggest men in the United States, in the field of commerce and manufacture, are afraid of somebody, are afraid of something. They know that there is a power somewhere so organized, so subtle [see Gen. 3:1], so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive ….” A century on, Edom, aided by all our convenient smart technology, has gained total dominion over the House of Israel, and Judah as well. Verse 7: All the men of your confederacy have brought you to the border: the men that were at peace with you have deceived you, and prevailed against you; they that eat your bread have laid a wound under you: there is no understanding in him.
All those who are in league with Edom will bring Edom to its end. In other words, those who have been in on these evil family's plan will set a trap for Edom that will go undetected.
In their haughtiness, Edom’s pride causes them to make grave mistakes before God in the fact that they should have respected their brother’s birthright and inheritance. [See Gen. 27:28, 29; also the Sneakers article, Who Is Dan ...?]. They should have kept their hands off the inheritance and birthright blessing given by God to Israel. But as we read above, they take everything. They will strip the children of Israel and Judah down to bare bones if not stopped. Verse 8: Shall I not in that day, says the LORD, even destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau?
Verse 9: And your mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one of the mount of Esau may be cut off by slaughter.
In that day refers to the time of the great wrath of the Lamb brought upon those still remaining of Edom, in the world at large just prior to Christ's return. Teman, noted for his wisdom, was the grandson of Esau. Everyone of Edom and those in league with him, receiving the mark of the beast [see Rev. 14:9-11, 15:2, 16:2], will be killed. “And the kings of the Earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man hid themselves in the dens and the rocks of the mountains; and said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us and hide us from the face of him that sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb, for great day of his wrath is come, and who shall be able to stand?” [Rev. 6:15-17].
Verse ten to sixteen is a historical reference back to the time of Esau's treachery against Jacob. [Psa. 137:7].
Verse 10: For your violence against your brother Jacob [both the House of Judah and the House of Israel] shame shall cover you, and you shall be cut off forever.
This also is referenced in Jeremiah, “For I have sworn by myself, says the LORD, that Bozrah [the capital city of Edom, see Isa. 63:1] shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes … and everyone that goes by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues thereof … Therefore, hear the counsel of the LORD that he has taken against Edom; and his purposes, that he has purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: surely the least of the flock shall draw them out; surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them.” [See Jer. 49:13-20].
Verse 11: In the day that you stood on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces [referring to those of Israel], and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, you were like one of them.
Verse 12: But you should not have looked on the day of your brother in the day that he became a stranger [the Assyrian captivity of the House of Israel, c. 732 BCE]; neither should you have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction [the Babylonian captivity of the House of Judah, c. 605 BCE]; neither should you have spoken proudly in the day of distress.
Verse 13: You should not have entered into the gate of my people [Luke 1:68] in the day of their calamity; yea, you should not have looked on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity; [see Psa. 83:1-12].
Verse 14: Neither should you have stood in the crossway, to cut off those of his that did escape; neither should you have delivered up those of his that did remain in the day of distress.
After Isaac blessed Jacob/Israel, he said to Esau. “Behold, I have made him [your brother] your lord ….” [Gen. 27:37]. But Esau has violated the blessing from God, which was passed from Abraham to Isaac to Israel, and he is being called on his lack of respect here. [Read the example of David and Saul, 1 Sam. 24].
The Babylonian captivity of the House of Judah took place in 605 BCE, although Obadiah wrote this prophecy about 160 years earlier concerning Judah and Jerusalem. As we read in the Psalms, “Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said. Raze it, raze it, even to the foundation thereof. O daughter of Babylon [meaning Edom, the Babylon of Nebuchadnezzar was the first head of the beast, Babylon the Great, is the sixth head or empire], who is to be destroyed, happy is he that rewards you as you have served [or fully done to] us.” [Psa. 137:7, 82; read Rev. 18:1-8, particularly verse 6].
While Jerusalem was looted and ransacked by the Babylonians, it was not destroyed. After 70 years of captivity, the people of Judah were allowed to return to Jerusalem. “Now in the year of Cyrus king of Persia [the second of the seven heads, modern day Persians, Iran, Rev. 12:3; also see Dan. 2:32, the great image’s arms of silver], that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled [Jer. 25:12, 29:10], the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and also put it in writing, saying, Thus says Cyrus the king of Persia, the LORD God of heaven has given me all the kingdoms [Heb. mamlakah] of the Earth [more accurately in Hebrew, a kingdom or dominion on the Earth]; and he has charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? His God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he is the God), which is in Jerusalem.” [Ezra 1:1-3; also see Ezra chapter 5].
However, in the first century, recall the words of Christ, “And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to show him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said to them, See you not all these things? Verily, I say to you, there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.” [Mat. 24:1, 2]. The second temple, as it existed in the first century, was built by Herod the Great, the Edomite king of Judea. The temple and the city of Jerusalem ruled over by Edom were totally laid waste by the army of the Roman Empire in 70 CE. Sixty to sixty-five years later, 130-135 CE, the Roman Emperor Hadrian visited the site of what was Jerusalem, and remarked that one would never know from looking at it that a great city had once stood there. The Romans built their city Aelia capitalina, c. 135 CE, on Jerusalem’s site after Hadrian’s visit. It was named in honor of Hadrian, whose clan name was Aelius.
God doesn’t look lightly upon those who delight in the calamity of others, especially when it is their brother Israel. “Whoso mocks the poor reproaches his Maker: and he that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished.” [Pro. 17:5].
Recall from the Feature article, Back To Square One, that it was Edom in the person of King Herod that had all the children in the area of Bethlehem two years of age and under killed by the sword. [See Mat. 10:34]. Christ was his target. But, it is Christ at his return that shall avenge the children of Israel. All Edom shall be destroyed.
Verse 15: For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as you have done, it shall be done to you: your reward shall return upon your own head.
Verse 16: For as you have drunk upon my holy mountain [Jerusalem], so shall all the nations drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and they shall swallow down, and they shall be as though they had not been.
The prophet Isaiah in Chapter 34 also wrote of this in the eighth century BCE. "Come near, you nations, to hear; and hearken, you people: let the Earth hear, and all that is therein; the world [Heb. tebel, the inhabited Earth], and all things that come forth of it. For the indignation of the LORD is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he has utterly destroyed them, he has delivered them to the slaughter [see Rev. 16:16];
“Their slain also shall be cast out, and their stink shall come up out of their carcasses, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood. And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll [see Rev. 6:14]: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falls off from the vine, and as a falling from the fig tree [see Mat. 24:32];
“For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea [Edom], and upon the people of my curse, to judgment [see Mal. 1:1-5, Rom. 9:13]. The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD has a sacrifice in Bozrah [capital city of ancient Idumea, and by extension the capital of their one world government], and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea. And the unicorns [Biblical scholars believe this to be the oryx rather than the mythical animal] shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness. For it is the day of the LORD's vengeance, and the year of recompenses for the controversy [Heb. riyb, strife, dispute] of Zion." [Isa. 34:1-8; see Zionists]. The dispute of Zion references Edom's wresting the birthright inheritance from his brother Israel through deceit and lies, wars both foreign and domestic, military and financial. This ties in with what we read in Revelation 16, when Edom shall be given blood to drink. “And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and the fountains of waters, and they became blood. And I heard the angel of the waters say, You are righteous O Lord, which are, was and shall be [see Heb. 13:8], because you have judged thus. For they shed the blood of saints and prophets, and you have given them blood to drink, for they are worthy.” [Rev. 16:4-6].
Verse 17: But upon mount Zion [Jerusalem] shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob [all the nations of Israel, see Rom. 11:25, 26] shall possess their possessions.
Possess their possessions refers to the birthright inheritance that Edom took from the hand of Israel because of our foolish and delinquent behavior. Edom had accomplished this by the first century with the House of Judah, and by the time of this prophecy they will have done so with the House of Israel too. What we are told is that all Israel will be purged by God, using Edom to accomplish this, due to our idolatry and rejecting the love of the truth of the word of God. We're in the midst of this process now. First is the House of Israel. Then with babylon the Great, the house of Judah. Ultimately, however, the tares will be gathered and burned, while the children of Israel are, as we read in Mat. 13:30, “ … wheat gathered into his barn …” Christ explained it in verse 43, “Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father.” Obadiah’s verse 17 reflects both of these verses in Matthew.
The parable of the tares, verses 40-43, “As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world [aion, age]. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; and shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth” are what Obadiah writes of in verse 18, and ties back in with verses 1 and 2.
Verse 18: And the house of Jacob shall be a fire [all Israel inclusive of Judah], and the house of Joseph [specifically the House of Israel led by Ephraim and Manasseh] a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble [straw, chaff], and they [Israel] shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau [Edom]; for the LORD has spoken.
As we read of Edom’s Babylon the Great destruction of Jerusalem in Revelation 17, “And the ten horns [the nations of Israel] which you saw upon the beast, these shall hate the whore [Edom], and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. For God has put in their hearts to fulfill his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom to the beast until the words of God shall be fulfilled. [This is Edom’s dominion, the indignation spoken of in Daniel 11]. And the woman which you saw is that great city [Jerusalem], which reigns over the kings of the earth” meaning Jerusalem will be the capital city of Edom’s Babylon the Great. [Rev 17: 16-18].
And in Revelation 18, “And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning …
“And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls! For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, and cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city! And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! [Greek, timiotes, precious and expensive goods, think Upper 5th Avenue, Rodeo Drive, New Bond Street or Avenue des Champs Elysees on steroids] for in one hour is she made desolate.” [Rev. 18:9, 16-19].
Verse 19: And they of the south shall possess the mount of Esau; and they of the plain the Philistines: and they shall possess the fields of Ephraim, and the fields of Samaria: and Benjamin shall possess Gilead.
Verse 20: And the captivity of this host of the children of Israel shall possess that of the Canaanites, even unto Zarephath; and the captivity of Jerusalem, which is in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south.
Verse 21: And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau [Eze. 35]; and the kingdom shall be the LORD's.
This marks the return of Judah and Israel, the 144,000 of Revelation 7, to their land once again after the events of the Apocalypse. Also, Judah will possess the land that was ancient Edom’s, which lay just to the south of Judah as well as the land, the plain to the Mediterranean. Ephraim, the kingly line of the House of Israel will regain her land, and the lands of Samaria. And Benjamin will repossess her lands eastward of the Jordan River.
There are many verses in the Old Testament that talk about this time, post-Apocalypse when the children of the House of Israel and the House of Judah will be brought back together in their land by God. It is the day of atonement for Israel. “Thus says the Lord GOD, Behold I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen where they’ve gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them to their own land, and I will make them one nation upon the mountains of Israel ….” [Eze. 37:21, 22].
“In that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen [see Jer. 30:9; Eze. 37:24], and close up the breach thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old; that they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen [Heb, gowy, this references the nations of Israel, see Psa. 2:8, not heathens or gentiles], which are called by my name, says the LORD that does this. Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that sows seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt. And I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, say the LORD your God.” [Amos 9:11-15].
Joshua [Hebrew meaning Yehovah is salvation], a descendant of Joseph, the kingly line of the House of Israel, led Israel across the Jordan River into the land promised to Abraham after their captivity in Egypt. The second time Israel enters the land promised to them, it will be by Jesus [Greek meaning Yehovah is salvation] Christ, our LORD, once again at the beginning of the Millennium of peace. “Behold, at that time I will undo all that afflict you, and I will save her that halts [Heb. tsala’, limping from weariness, fatigue], and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame. And at that time I will bring you again, even in the time that I gather you [Mat. 13:30 above]: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the Earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, says the LORD.” [Zep. 3:19, 20; see Rev. 14:1].
In the last verse of Obadiah, he mentions saviors, [Heb. yasha, deliverer]. The mount of Sion, in context means the authority of those of Israel, judging over Esau, or Edom. Likely this refers to those of the first resurrection judging not only Edom, but among the nations of the Earth during the Millennium. “Blessed and holy is he that has part in the first resurrection [the first-fruits]: on such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign [Greek, basileuo, to exercise kingly power and authority] with him a thousand years.” [Rev. 20:6].
“And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.” [Micah 4:3; also Isa. 2:4, Isa. 11; Zec. 9:16, 17]. Contrast this with Edom who lives by the sword today, and our world perpetually at war since Edom initiated 9/11.
In Summary:
The events in Obadiah are at the end of what began thousands of years ago in the book of Genesis with Jacob and Esau. [See Gen. 25:23-26]. Esau sold the birthright inheritance to his brother Jacob for a bowl of stew. And since the first century CE, the beginning of the Christian era, Edom, who lives by the sword, has made every effort to get it back. Because we of Jacob, both Judah and Israel, have forsaken our birthright and covenant over the past two millennia or so, Edom has gained control of it through our carelessness. [See the Sneakers article, A LIfe And Death Pickle Of A Predicament]. And while all Israel will be purged again, for 42 months because we have made Christ our enemy [Isa. 63:10], when our chastising is finished, Edom shall be punished mightily for his deeds for putting his hand on that which God gave to Israel. This will mark the end of the Christian age and usher in the Millennium.
Then, Israel shall be gathered from all over the Earth, and returned to her blessing on mount Sion, and Christ shall reign on the Earth for a period of 1000 years of peace. “And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again, the second time, to recover the remnant of his people [see Luke 1:68] which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathos, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel [the House of Israel], and gather together the dispersed of [the House of] Judah from the four corners of the Earth.” [Isa. 11:11, 12]. This is the time spoken of in the parable of the tares, gathering the wheat into the barn in Matthew 13:30. It is the time of atonement for both the House of Israel and the House of Judah. [Heb. 8:8]. This is the second time all Israel is recovered. As noted above, the first time was when they were brought out of Egypt.
Pathos is Upper Egypt, Cush refers to southern Egypt, Elam is a part of Persia, and Shinar is Babylonian Mesopotamia. Along with Assyria these were all part of ancient territories in which the children of Israel had been in captivity. All Israel had been slaves in Egypt. Beginning in 732 BCE, the House of Israel was taken captive by the Assyrians. And later the House of Judah had been taken captive by Babylon. This is telling us that God will gather the remnant of Israel, the 144,000 who have survived the Apocalypse [see Rev. 7:4], from wherever they are and return them again to their ancient lands as promised in his covenant with Abraham, ushering in a thousand years of peace.
What Christ was foretelling in the parable of the tares is what is contained in the writings of the Old Testament prophets, including Obadiah, regarding all Israel. And while the tares, Edom, will be burned up and gone, the remnant of all Israel, the children of the kingdom, will rejoice in peace by the hand of our LORD again. It is “the times of refreshing” the apostle Peter spoke of in chapter three of the Book of Acts.
However, the purging of our nations at the hand of Edom stands between us, and Christ’s return. Therefore, it is incumbent on each of us individually to get back to the love of the truth of the word of God, the good ground, living our lives accordingly that we may be kept from Israel’s second purging. Edom, and Israel too, have missed the mark. For what both are missing is that the true birthright and inheritance are of the Spirit, in the kingdom of God, and are not found in the kingdoms and empires of men.
All things written in the word of God will come to pass, for “… that which is determined shall be done.” Therefore, “who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

The Catholic Church "downgraded" Christ's status [more fake news from the author of the lie], as if they could perform this nonsense. It appears they are oblivious to the prophecies spoken by Yehovah against these latter day liars and deceivers. This evil deceit is driven by the Zionists [Beast] and the Roman church [False Prophet]. According to the Vatican, our Lord and Savior, is no longer the son of the living God, who is the God of the living, as in eternal life. [See the Sneakers article, One, Two, Three More Or Less]. The Roman church considers him to be a Talmudic teacher. Thus, by their own admission, any claim the Roman church made to being a Christian church has vanished. It's one more reason to leave Catholicism. "And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods." [Dan. 11:36]. The road to perdition has been paved. But, we haven't heard about this at all in the media have we? If you are a Catholic reading this, ask your priest if he knows Christ was downgraded from the son of the living God to a satanic Talmudic teacher by Rome. Nevertheless, when the time comes, it will be proclaimed to all by Babylon the Great.
Keep in mind, the Book of Revelation talks about both the Beast and the False Prophet. So, it is no coincidence that the US Supreme Court is comprised only of Catholics and "Jews," but not one Protestant these days. It is interesting that the Protestant denominations, apparently now sitting in third place only above the fourth place Muslims, having been led down the primrose path by Santa and the Easter Bunny for centuries now, refer to the Roman church as the "mother church." And the Roman "mother" church is saying that "Judaism" [in reality, the Satanic Talmudic teachings of Zionism, not the orthodox Jews who still adhere to the Torah], is the "elder brother" religion to Rome. Edom, who has had dominion over the House of Judah, the Jews, since the first century through the Herods, and in the end-times in Revelation 3 are referred to as "the synagogue of Satan who say they are Jews and are not," i.e., Zionists, have infiltrated the Roman church as well. Remember, the HQ of the Zionist/Edomite Talmudic Babylon the Great will be in Jerusalem. [See Dan. 11:36].
And Babylon the Great, the Beast and False Prophet, shall have dominion over Judaism, Christianity and Islam, three religious kingdoms with ties to Jerusalem and Abram/Abraham. [Dan. 7:24]. This is what the Chrislam movement is heading towards. [Antichristdom; also Pope's Chrislam Logo, sounds like something a corporate ad agency would produce; see 2 Cor. 11:3, 4; Gen. 21:10; Gal. 4:21-30]. Having wrapped up Judaism, and most of "Christianity," all they need now is to subdue Islam. On the secular side of the coin, they are using the Christian nations, the House of Israel and their military might and money [financial evisceration] to attack Muslim countries like Syria, Iran and Iraq, while making deals on the other hand with Saudi Arabia and its Arab alliance countries. With Christians and Muslims bashing each other over the head, Edom will emerge victorious. It's not coincidence. It is prophecy being fulfilled before your eyes.
President Trump moved the US embassy to Jerusalem in May 2018, the 70th anniversary of the state of Israel in 1948, making the same point as has the Roman church, i.e., "the permanence of [Zionist] Israel." Of course, as Babylon the Great, they get only three and a half years of "permanence." The US Senate passed a resolution 90-0 [albeit there are 100 US senators], essentially recognizing Judaism's, and therefore Edom's, claim of uninterrupted habition of Jerusalem, which is a historically proven fairy tale myth. Nothing but lies and more lies. Edom is using their cover as "Jews" to maneuver both the religious and secular worlds into position for them to encapsulate Jerusalem, "the great city, Babylon." Remember, the historical capital of Edom is Bozrah, not Jerusalem. Jerusalem has been the capital city of their brother Israel, to whom they sold the birthright. What follows here is a copy of footnote six in Damascus A Heap Of Ruins.
"The [US Senate] resolution notes that for 3,000 years, there has been a continuous Jewish presence in Jerusalem, and it has been Judaism’s holiest city and the focal point of Jewish religious devotion." [US Senate Okays Move To Jerusalem]. This intentionally is a clear and ignorant misrepresentation of the facts, no doubt sold to ignore senators by AIPAC and others. It is a Zionist propaganda myth intended to mislead a gullible, ignorant public. First, less than 3000 years ago, about 597-586 BCE depending on who's counting, all the Jews were removed from Jerusalem by the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar for a period of 70 years of captivity due to their idolatry before they were allowed to return. [See Ezra 2:1]. Therefore, as to Jerusalem being "the focal point of Jewish religious devotion," well, this was hardly the case. It appears the Jew's devotion missed the mark for quite some time, too, before the Babylonian captivity.
"Therefore, thus says the LORD God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever hears of it, both his ears shall tingle. And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab: and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipes a dish, wiping it, and turning it upside down. And I will forsake the remnant of mine inheritance [the House of Judah, as the House of Israel had been divorced about 150 years earlier, hence stretching the line of Samaria, the capital of the Kingdom of Israel, over Jerusalem which lay south of the House of Israel's border], and deliver them into the hand of their enemies [the Babylonians]; and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies; because they have done evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even unto this day. Moreover Manasseh [a king of Judah, though, ironically, the namesake in the last days of the US in Genesis 48, 49] shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; beside his sin wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing evil in the sight of the LORD." [2 Kings 21:12-16]. So much for the US Senate's claim of the Jew's religious fidelity to the word of God. It's pure myth.
Then in 70 CE, the city of Jerusalem, ruled over by the Edomite Herods since 37 BCE by proclamation of the Roman Senate, was totally and completely obliterated. Seems like those of Edom have a way of influencing Senates, then and now. Also remember, Jerusalem was the capital of the Roman province, Judea, under Edomite rule and was not the capital of the nations of Israel. As the first century historian Josephus wrote, “The Romans, though it was a terrible struggle to collect the timber, raised their platforms in twenty-one days. As described before, the whole area was stripped in a circle round the city to a distance of ten miles. The countryside, like the city, was a pitiful sight. For where there once had been a lovely vista of woods and parks, there was nothing but desert and stumps of trees. No one, not even a foreigner who had seen the Old Judea and the glorious suburbs of the city, and now set eyes on her present desolation, could have helped sighing and groaning at so terrible a change. Every trace of beauty had been blotted out by war. And nobody who had known it in the past, and came upon it suddenly, would have recognized the place. For when he was on site [of Jerusalem], he still would have been looking for the city.” [Compare this to the prophecy in Revelation 18:10 and 18:21]. Books of the History of the Jewish [nee, Edomite] War Against the Romans, Flavius Josephus, c. 75-78 CE.
The area remained barren, not one stone upon another, until c.135 CE when the Romans built a ROMAN city on the scoured site, naming it Aelia capitalina, in honour of the Roman emperor. And except for the one Day of Atonement a year, Jews were not allowed into the Roman city under penalty of death. Aelia capitalina remained a Roman city until 638 CE when taken, not by the Jews, but by the Muslims. So for a period of 568 years, there was no Jerusalem for Jews to have a presence in. And the "holy walls" of Jerusalem were built by Suleiman the Magnificent between 1537 to 1541 as mentioned above. They are not a remnant left over from the Edomite Herodian or second temple in the first century as the common apocryphal myth would have us believe. It's all lies. All war is deceit. And it wasn't until the 1948 UN mandate, after the Islamic Ottoman Empire, and the after British Palestine Mandate, that the Jews, a nation-state for the first time in more than 2500 years, had any sort of shared quasi-legal claim to Jerusalem again. And though the establishment of Israel was a prophetic fulfillment in the plan of God, its secular impetus came from the Zionists as orthodox Jews are waiting for the Messiah to set up his kingdom in Jerusalem. So for those of "the synagogue of Satan who claim to be Jews and are not " [Edom, Rev. 3:9] claiming eternal "ownership" of Jerusalem [Zion] due to the alleged 3000 years of "continuous presence" in Jerusalem, well, it's pure poppycock. Control and occupation of Jerusalem [Zion] in this end time is sought after by Israel's brother, the Edomite wolf in sheep's clothing, Babylon the Great. We need to do the prophetic math on this US Senate resolution and law. [Edom Methodology].
The claim that the current day city of Jerusalem belongs to Israel due to 3000 years of continuous presence is a Zionist lie. Remember, the Jews are only one of the 12 nations of Israel. [See Gen. 49]. Jerusalem will not be the capital of Israel until Christ's return when both the Houses of Israel and Judah are one kingdom again as written of by the prophet Ezekiel. [Eze. 37:15-28]. The last time Jerusalem was capital of all Israel was c. 931 BCE at the end of Solomon's rule when Israel was divided into two kingdoms. The Zionists want Jerusalem for their capital, Babylon the Great. Those of Israel descended from Judah were out of Jerusalem for 70 years due to their Babylonian captivity. "Now the rest of the people left in the city [Jerusalem], and the fugitives that fell away to the king of Babylon, with the remnant of the multitude, did Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carry away." [2 Kings 25:11]. Some Jews in the land of Judah, not in Jerusalem, remained behind, but were under Babylonian authority.
Then "Jerusalem," after its total destruction in 70 CE, lay barren until the area became a Roman city, then an Eastern Roman Empire [Byzantine] city, then an Islamic Ottoman city [the 5th head of the beast], and then a British Mandate city until 1948. So for about two-thirds of this alleged 3000 years the Jews have been on the outside looking in. And this does not include the fact that from the return of the Jews to Jerusalem under Cyrus, the city itself was under the successive sovereignty, not of Israel, but of the Persian, Greek and Roman empires, the 2nd, 3rd and 4th heads of the beast, until utterly destroyed in 70 CE. Edom's Babylon the Great is the sixth head of the beast. The second destruction of Edom’s Jerusalem, while to be accomplished in a different manner, will be just as complete as stated in Revelation 18.
The key point to take away from this is that Jerusalem has not been the sovereign capital of Israel since 931 BCE, and won't be again until Christ reunites both the House of Judah and the House of Israel as one kingdom at his return. [Heb. 8:8; see the Sneakers article, Time To Wake Up? You Bet Your Life!]. Until then, from this point forward, Jerusalem will be under the auspices of Edom, the sixth head of the beast, exactly as written in the Biblical record's prophecies. [See Rev. 17:5; also Revelation 17: Big Brother].
2 As the Deuteronomy or 5th Book of Psalms, Psalms 107-150, the prophetic Psalm 137 was written centuries before the Babylonian captivity of Judah. Verse 7 references the circumstances of Jerusalem and Judah's captivity in the seventh century BCE. Cyrus and the Persian empire, the second head of the beast with seven heads, supplanted the Babylonian empire of Nebuchadnezzar. Thus, the first Babylon was finished. Daniel's great image description of Babylon as the head of gold of the beast received a "deadly wound." It was Cyrus who allowed those of Judah to return to Judea. However, Psalm 137 verse 8 references the future Babylon the Great, "O daughter of Babylon who is to be destroyed ...." So, verse 7 is now historical and verse 8 remains prophetic. Together, they book-end the two Babylons, while tying Edom to both of them.

The parable of the tares is prophetic in nature as it has a timing element. That timing event is referred to as the harvest, which begins, and then culminates at the return of Christ, and the first resurrection. [See chapter five, Christ's Return ... As we read, “But every man in his own order: Christ the first-fruits, afterwards those who are Christ’s at his coming.” [1 Cor. 15:20-23; also Col. 1:18; see reference to the first resurrection, Rev. 20:4-6, the annual holy Sabbath day of Trumpets; also the Feature articles, The Relevance Of The Holy Days In The Plan Of God In The Last Days and Heaven Can Wait].
The Tares
Let’s read the parable of the tares as spoken by Christ in the first century. The parable is in Matthew chapter 13.
Verse 24: Another parable put he forth to them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened to a man which sowed good seed in his field:
Verse 25: but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
Verse 26: When the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
Verse 27: So the servants of the householder came and said to him, Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?
Verse 28: He said unto them, An enemy has done this. The servants said unto him, Will you have us go and gather up the tares?
Verse 29: He said, No, lest while you gather up the tares, you root up also the wheat with them.
Verse 30: Let both grow together until the harvest [the return of Christ]: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. Mat. 13:24-30.
The Greek word used for tares in Matthew is zizanion. According to Thayer’s Greek Lexicon, a tare is “a kind of darnel [Lollum temulentum], a bastard wheat resembling wheat except that the grains [upon sprouting, bringing forth fruit, v.26] are black” as opposed to golden brown for the good wheat. It isn't until the "bastard wheat" Edom [aka Khazars by many, Zionists, though not descendants of Judah] "sprouts" [see John 8:44, Rev. 3:9; Edom, The Khazars], when it gains dominion over all the Biblical nations of Israel, prior to the culmination of the harvest, the return of Christ, that they openly will distinguish themselves from the children of Israel. This is why Edom is largely unknown by its Biblical name now. [See 2 Ths. 2:7-12; also Tare Season and Sowing Tares Worldwide].
Recall earlier in Matthew 13 that Christ’s apostles asked him why he spoke in parables. He told them, “Because it is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them [meaning the descendants of the House of Judah, the Jews during this age, and Edom, the tares who were mixed into the House of Judah by the first century] it is not given.” [See the Feature article, And It’s Still A Mystery]. After the multitudes were sent away, and they went into the house, “ … his disciples came unto him, saying, ‘Declare to us the parable of the tares of the field.’” The parable of the tares is a prophecy primarily concerning the House of Judah regarding Edom’s dominion according to the Genesis 27 prophecy, and the Babylon the Great prophecies in the Book of Revelation. And while Edom now has dominion over the House of Israel, it will not regain the birthright inheritance, for it is of the Spirit and promise of God, and not attainable by the works of flesh. This fact is lost on Edom. Edom is stuck with an outdated mindset reminiscent of the Old Testament, which no longer exists. [Zec. 11:10, 11; see the Feature articles, Isaiah 63: Big Brother and Back To Square One; also How Edom/Zionists Have Gained Dominion Today; Creeping In Unawares].
In some of our previous Feature articles we discussed that Esau/Edom had dominion over Judah, the Jews, the fourth born son of Israel, beginning in the first century. The same situation exists today. It is becoming more obvious in our current events. Please read footnote1 before continuing. [See Rev. 3:9; also see the updated Feature article, Little Horn: First Century Antichrist]. And it was Isaac who passed on the seed line birthright and inheritance of promise to his son Israel, rather than to his "son of the flesh," Esau. [See Rom. 9:6-13]. By the time the events of Revelation 13 occur, Edom, the tares, will be known to all. Babylon the Great’s reign over Judah from Jerusalem, and by extension over the survivors of the House of Israel, will last for 42 months prior to the harvest of the first-fruits.
In response to his disciples' request concerning the tares, Christ answered, saying,
Verse 37: He that sows the good seed is the Son of man;
Verse 38: the field is the world [The word world here is the Greek, kosmos. It is God’s plan, an orderly arrangement, the same as used in John 3:16; see the Feature article, Three Temple Ages Make A Plan]; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one [specifically a reference to Edom. See Mal. 1:1-4, Rom. 9:13, John 8:44; please note that the word world, kosmos in Greek, does not refer to people];
Verse 39: the enemy that sowed them is the devil [Rev. 3:9]; the harvest is the end of the world [The word world here is the Greek, aion. It means age. Thus, this is referencing the end of the Christian age, the end of the last days up to the return of Christ]; and the reapers are the angels.
Verse 40: As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. [aion, age].
Verse 41: The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
Verse 42: And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Verse 43: Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who has ears to hear, let him hear. [Mat. 13:36-43].
Now let’s turn to the Book of Obadiah, which is only 21 verses long. Obadiah, circa 765 BCE, is considered an Assyrian period prophet. Remember, it was the Assyrian’s that took the House of Israel captive, beginning about 732 BCE, which was our ancestor’s purging. [See the Feature article, Damascus A Heap Of Ruins]. However, Obadiah in his 21 verses mentions another time in his future, c. 605 BCE, when the Babylonians carried away the House of Judah for 70 years as captives too.
But the primary purpose of Obadiah is an end-times prophecy concerning Edom. It is a prophetic reflection of the parable of the tares, providing the names and circumstances spoken of in the parable. Also, the prophecy in Jeremiah 49, verses 7-22 make many of the same points as we find here in Obadiah. If you haven’t already, it would be good to read the Feature articles, Isaiah 63: Big Brother, The Prophetic 21st Century Antichrist, and Revelation 17: Big Brother, The Beast Of Babylon, as well as chapter six in The Blind Man’s Elephant to help you better understand Obadiah. While there are historical instances contained both in Jeremiah 49 and Obadiah regarding Edom, our focus here is on the prophetic aspects of Obadiah as it pertains to the parable of the tares, which also could be called the parable of the end of the Christian age just prior to the return of Christ. [Zionist Tares].
Obadiah
Verse 1: The vision of Obadiah. Thus says the Lord GOD concerning Edom; we have heard a rumor [Heb. shemuw’ah, report, tidings] from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent among the nations [Heb. gowy, equivalent of the Greek ethnos, nations]; arise, and let us rise up against her in battle.
The nations referred to here are the ten nations of Israel including the House of Judah [see Gen. 49], the ten horns mentioned in Daniel 7 and in Revelation 12, 13 and 17 that in the end rise up against Edom. The word ambassador is the Hebrew word tsiyr. It is used here as a messenger on behalf of God. When it is time for them to rise up against Edom, it will occur. This happens prior to the return of Christ, the harvest in the parable of the tares. [See Rev. 17:16-18; also the Feature article, Revelation 17: Big Brother].
Verse 2: Behold, I have made you [Edom] small [in number, i.e., the "1 percenters"] among the nations [Houses of Israel and Judah]: you are greatly despised.
While their Biblical identity is not commonly known by those of the House of Israel today, they are greatly despised. This verse provides the motivation for verse one's "let us rise up against Edom in battle." Recall from Genesis 27:28, 39, that according to the blessing passed on from Isaac, Edom lives among the Christian nations of Israel, and in Judah, tares sown among the wheat, "Behold, your dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above ….” And it is also said that Edom shall live by the sword today (including the covid needle), that is all things military including promoting and profiting from ongoing wars, and the potential threat thereof, i.e., Russia, China, Iran et al. [See Gen. 27:40]. The nations of the world despise the West's military meddling and wars, profiteering in the name of national security on behalf of Zionist Israel. Diplomacy is a lost art, but the art of deception, war [Zionist Israel Mossad's motto, Rule By Deception], is alive and well in the propaganda halls of Zionist mainstream media. The first two verses of Obadiah also are written in Jeremiah 49, verses 14 and 15 in context of addressing Edom. While the actual numbers of those of Edom are small compared to the nations of all Israel [numbering about 1 billion, give or take], they are disproportionately despised for their evilness. In the process, they have perverted the name of Israel, making it a curse for those of the Houses of Judah and Israel. [See Isa. 65:15]. As it reads, Edom is " ... of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie." [Rev. 3:9; see the Feature article, Why Do We Believe The Lies?; also see video, Edom].
Verse 3: The pride of your heart has deceived you, you that dwell in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that says in his heart, ‘Who shall bring me down to the ground?’
These elites, these arrogant atheist princes, have outwitted themselves in terms of their sense of infallibility due to their ego and pride exalting themselves above the House of Israel. These families assume their world ruling goals are firmly in their grasp. It is in their pride that they stumble by the hand of God.
We see this similar attitude displayed by the Beast in Daniel, except he shall exalt himself above God. “And the king [of Babylon the Great] shall do according to his will and exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished [the purging of Israel is finished, i.e., 42 months, Rev. 13:5, after which comes the rising up against Edom in battle mentioned in verse 1]; for that that is determined shall be done.” [Dan. 11:36].
This also echoes Edom’s mindset, which we find in Isaiah 63:1, “ … glorious in his apparel, traveling in the greatness of his strength. I speak in righteousness mighty to save.” In truth, their goal is to kill all the descendants of Israel. Initially, they are doing this surreptitiously, like gradually turning up the heat to boil a frog. Eventually, the pretense will be dropped. [See the Feature article, Isaiah 63: Big Brother, 21st Century Antichrist].
As to their dwelling in the clefts of the rock, we should not expect to find Edom living like little hairy troglodytes. [Gen. 25:25, 27:11]. Rather, as this references the end of our age, it is a modern reference to their places of business in skyscrapers, living in high-rise penthouses, flying around in private jets, etc., lofty perches of power and wealth from which they oversee their quest for a one world government. In the smug pride of their heart, controlling the world’s economy through central banks, inflicting damage with the excuse of covid, and with their political hegemony, they think, “Who can bring me down to the ground?” Big mistake. They should be mindful of Proverbs 16:18, “Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall.” [See Isa. 14:12-21; Rev. 13:4].
Verse 4: Though you exalt yourself as the eagle, and though you set your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down, says the LORD.
The eagle and the stars refer to the US. While those of Edom aren't the House of Israel, they exalt themselves with the pride of their heart as the real rulers, the elites, the princes of the US who are in control. It is what is referred to as the Deep State or the Swamp, including those infesting various branches of goverment. It is from the US that the fall of Edom begins by the hand of our LORD. And it ends with the fall of Babylon the Great In Jerusalem. Remember, the House of Israel are Christ's people. He rules in our nations, and not those in these evil families who may have the perception that they are in control. In due course, beginning with these events, the prophecies culminate with the return of Christ. If we look at all the nations of the "Christian" West [UK, Germany, France, Italy, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, et al] all of them appear to be firmly in the grasp of those in this evil network, much like a crime family. The US has been the lone impediment until now, with control over the reins of government through a stolen election. [See Micah 2:1-3; again see the Feature article, The Relevance Of The Holy Days In The Plan Of God In The Last Days].
Today, Edom is wasting the economic might [including covid economic shutdowns, massive deception and fraud] and the power of the US, Manasseh, UK, Ephraim in the Old Testament [see the Feature article, Is The US And Great Britain In End-times Bible Prophecy?], to achieve its goal of a one-world government as Klaus Schwab, head of the WEF tells us.
And prior to the emergence of Babylon the Great, due to our ignoring the truth of the word of our LORD, the children of the House of Israel will be given warnings. This is near to taking place now. "But they refused to heed, shrugged their shoulders, and stopped their ears so that they could not hear. Yes, they made their hearts like flint, refusing to hear the law and the words which the LORD of hosts had sent by His Spirit through the former prophets. Thus great wrath came from the LORD of hosts. Therefore it happened, just as He proclaimed and they would not hear, so they called out and I would not listen,” says the LORD of hosts. But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations which they had not known. Thus the land became desolate after them, so that no one passed through or returned; for they made the pleasant land desolate.” [Zec. 7:11-14]. This applies to the lands of the collective West. Bottom line, we are the cause of our current predicament. But we can turn ourselves around to the truth of the word of God, and forsake the heathen practices that have been incorporated in the Church of Rome's theology.
The symbol of the US is the eagle. [Note the formation of the stars above the eagle on a US passport, Passport Stars, again see Rev. 3:9]. Therefore, to the world, Edom exalts itself with the power of the US. Edom is controlling the levers of power [i.e., the Deep State] in the US, and in the UK and the Western Christian countries to bring this about. But as we're told, " ... from there I will bring you down, says the LORD." The beginning of their fall will start in the States and the West, the House of Israel, and culminate with the House of Judah, by the hand of our LORD.
As history professor Carroll Quigley noted in his epic book, Tragedy And Hope, Edom [though Quigley does not use this term] seeks to gain dominion over all the "habitable portions of the world" by infiltrating "university life, the press [mass media, A Former Insider, Major News Outlets Are Zionist Organizations], and the practice of foreign policy." It’s all about fulfilling the prophecy in Genesis 27 of gaining dominion. An illuminating side note: the US military’s Pentagon has divided up the Earth’s land-mass and oceans for gain. Read Dan. 11:38, 39; then see the *CENTCOM Map. The US Department of Defense has taken down this map at least twice that I am aware of. See command centers map. Please note that the header US CENTCOM is placed over Israel on this map, which would give the casual observer the impression that Israel is included. But, it's not for a reason. Zionist Israel is, now was, the only place on the planet not included in a US Pentagon command center. The absence of Israel was noticeable in the previous Defense Department map. But, as you can see on this CENTCOM map, Israel is missing. [Missing]. And Israel is not included in AFRICOM or any other COM map either.
Update: Maybe it was getting too obvious, or now the timing is right for their plans, so the US in 2021 under Biden moved to include Israel in CENTCOM, "a theater-level Unified Combatant Command unit of the U.S. armed forces." Real question, who joined whom? Is the Pentagon's combatant command unit now a part of Israel or vice versa as they claim? Remember, Babylon the Great is HQ'd in Jerusalem. However, how does one "bring" a sovereign nation into the Pentagon, ostensibly a department of the US government? And did the Pentagon invite all the other nations of the world to join their AORs as well, or went ahead and did it anyway? How did they convince the countries east of Jerusalem, Russia, China and Iran, to come into the Pentagon constellation? Of course, they didn't. And now the Fair New World Order is bringing Schwab's and the Western globalist bankers NWO to an end as the prophecies in Micah tell us. From all appearances, with the Biden administration, the pieces officially are getting in place leading to the prophetic Syrian war as Ukraine and Taiwan will be no go's. "JINSA [the Zionist Washington-based 'Jewish' Institute for National Security Affairs] argued that such a [Zionist led] network could lead to the creation of a region-wide missile defense network with shared early warning alerts. The cooperation could include steps to disrupt the Iranian proliferation of advanced weapons to its proxies, which target Israel and US forces, and pragmatic Sunni states alike, a central member of the regional anti-Iranian alliance.
"In the face of these threats, [however, it is Israel who frequently attacks Syria's southern areas with missiles because it doesn't like Iran's influence, hence Israel's perception of threat, in Syria] CENTCOM can also initiate joint exercises and contingency plans for Iran-specific threats, thereby boosting cooperation, while Israel can find a new framework within which to share critical information from its “war between the wars” to disrupt Iranian force build-up in the region." [The Birds Of A Feather Rationale]. So CENTCOM is not one big happy family, but rather the US's combatant military force build-up in the Middle East, obviously a region in which it is not located.
The Pentagon has designated the "homeland" of the United States as its Northern Command, it's HQ located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Its Central Command, CENTCOM, has its temporary HQ in Florida, although Google maps won't let you get a close look at it. And likely it's only a matter of time before it moves its HQ to Jerusalem. [Note CENTCOM's Insignia with the eagle, whose wing conveniently covers up Israel, and the stars, " ... you set your nest among the stars ..."]. Is this symbolizing the Pentagon protecting Zionist Israel?
This geo-poilitical mother lode also includes the ancient Biblical lands of Idumea [Edom] and its capital Bozrah, and Babylon. Israel, including Jerusalem, the great city mentioned in Revelation 18 that is destroyed in one hour, was the only place on the planet excluded from US combatant command areas. And for good reason. According to the prophecies, the seat of the sixth head of the beast will be in Israel. Of course, the Trump administration recognized Jerusalem as the sole capital of Zionist Israel, paving the way for Babylon the Great. None of the previous five empires, the five heads of the beast in Daniel chapter two, not the Babylonians, the Persians, the Greeks, the Romans or the Ottomans had Jerusalem as their capital city. Only Edom, Israel's brother, Babylon the Great, the sixth head of the beast, fits this prophetic description.
“And he [Babylon the Great] shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas [the Dead Sea and the Mediterranean] in the glorious holy mountain [Jerusalem, the capital city of ancient Biblical Israel] …” [Dan. 11:45a]. “ … yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.” [Dan. 11:45b]. This is the reason why US President Trump's now fulfilled desire to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem has such prophetic portent. And it is interesting to note that the US is losing influence with both Russia and China. It may be that our last days prophetic compass is pointing more and more towards the last big push in the Middle East.
It is from their lofty world ruling roost in Israel that God will cause Babylon the Great to come crashing back down to Earth at his return. “And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the Earth, so mighty an earthquake, so great. And the great city [Edom’s Jerusalem] was divided into three parts [see Rev. 11:11-13; also Jerusalem Earthquake], and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give to her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.” [Rev. 16:18, 19].
Verse 5: If thieves came to you, if robbers by night, (how are you cut off!) would they not have stolen till they had enough? If the grape gatherers came to you, would they not leave some grapes?
If thieves and robbers came by night, how you are cut off. In Hebrew this is damah, which references how Edom will perish or be destroyed. As we read in Revelation 18, Babylon the Great is destroyed in one hour, unannounced as a thief in the night. Also see Rev. 14:17-20.
But the point here is that even robbers and thieves don’t take everything. At the time of the harvest in ancient Israel, they were instructed to leave something for the poor and the travelers. “And you shall not glean your vineyard, neither shall you gather every grape, you shall leave them for the poor and the sojourner: I am the LORD.” [Lev, 19:10].
Verse 6: How are the things of Esau searched out! How are his hidden things sought up!
However, all these things that the Rothschild et al Edom are doing in secret, hidden away from the eyes of the world, their secretiveness will boil over, bulging out from their hiding places to be seen. For the time being, they have built a secret hidden empire. As US President Woodrow Wilson observed about 100 years ago, “Some of the biggest men in the United States, in the field of commerce and manufacture, are afraid of somebody, are afraid of something. They know that there is a power somewhere so organized, so subtle [see Gen. 3:1], so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive ….” A century on, Edom, aided by all our convenient smart technology, has gained total dominion over the House of Israel, and Judah as well. [Audio: 100 Years Zionist Control].
Verse 7: All the men of your confederacy have brought you to the border: the men that were at peace with you have deceived you, and prevailed against you; they that eat your bread have laid a wound under you: there is no understanding in him.
All those who are in league with Edom will bring Edom to its end. In other words, those who have been in on these evil family's plan will set a trap for Edom that will go undetected.
In their haughtiness, Edom’s pride causes them to make grave mistakes before God in the fact that they should have respected their brother’s birthright and inheritance. [See Gen. 27:28, 29; also the Sneakers article, Who Is Dan ...?]. They should have kept their hands off the inheritance and birthright blessing given by God to Israel. But as we read above, they take everything. They will strip the children of Israel and Judah down to bare bones if not stopped. Verse 8: Shall I not in that day, says the LORD, even destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau?
Verse 9: And your mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one of the mount of Esau may be cut off by slaughter.
In that day refers to the time of the great wrath of the Lamb brought upon those still remaining of Edom, in the world at large just prior to Christ's return. Teman, noted for his wisdom, was the grandson of Esau. Everyone of Edom and those in league with him, receiving the mark of the beast [see Rev. 14:9-11, 15:2, 16:2], will be killed. “And the kings of the Earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man hid themselves in the dens and the rocks of the mountains; and said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us and hide us from the face of him that sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb, for great day of his wrath is come, and who shall be able to stand?” [Rev. 6:15-17].
Verse ten to sixteen is a historical reference back to the time of Esau's treachery against Jacob. [Psa. 137:7].
Verse 10: For your violence against your brother Jacob [both the House of Judah and the House of Israel] shame shall cover you, and you shall be cut off forever.
This also is referenced in Jeremiah, “For I have sworn by myself, says the LORD, that Bozrah [the capital city of Edom, see Isa. 63:1] shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes … and everyone that goes by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues thereof … Therefore, hear the counsel of the LORD that he has taken against Edom; and his purposes, that he has purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: surely the least of the flock shall draw them out; surely he shall make their habitations desolate with them.” [See Jer. 49:13-20].
Verse 11: In the day that you stood on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces [referring to those of Israel], and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, you were like one of them.
Verse 12: But you should not have looked on the day of your brother in the day that he became a stranger [the Assyrian captivity of the House of Israel, c. 732 BCE]; neither should you have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction [the Babylonian captivity of the House of Judah, c. 605 BCE]; neither should you have spoken proudly in the day of distress.
Verse 13: You should not have entered into the gate of my people [Luke 1:68] in the day of their calamity; yea, you should not have looked on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity; [see Psa. 83:1-12].
Verse 14: Neither should you have stood in the crossway, to cut off those of his that did escape; neither should you have delivered up those of his that did remain in the day of distress.
After Isaac blessed Jacob/Israel, he said to Esau. “Behold, I have made him [your brother] your lord ….” [Gen. 27:37]. But Esau has violated the blessing from God, which was passed from Abraham to Isaac to Israel, and he is being called on his lack of respect here. [Read the example of David and Saul, 1 Sam. 24].
The Babylonian captivity of the House of Judah took place in 605 BCE, although Obadiah wrote this prophecy about 160 years earlier concerning Judah and Jerusalem. As we read in the Psalms, “Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said. Raze it, raze it, even to the foundation thereof. O daughter of Babylon [meaning Edom, the Babylon of Nebuchadnezzar was the first head of the beast, Babylon the Great, is the sixth head or empire], who is to be destroyed, happy is he that rewards you as you have served [or fully done to] us.” [Psa. 137:7, 82; read Rev. 18:1-8, particularly verse 6].
While Jerusalem was looted and ransacked by the Babylonians, it was not destroyed. After 70 years of captivity, the people of Judah were allowed to return to Jerusalem. “Now in the year of Cyrus king of Persia [the second of the seven heads, modern day Persians, Iran, Rev. 12:3; also see Dan. 2:32, the great image’s arms of silver], that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled [Jer. 25:12, 29:10], the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and also put it in writing, saying, Thus says Cyrus the king of Persia, the LORD God of heaven has given me all the kingdoms [Heb. mamlakah] of the Earth [more accurately in Hebrew, a kingdom or dominion on the Earth]; and he has charged me to build him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? His God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he is the God), which is in Jerusalem.” [Ezra 1:1-3; also see Ezra chapter 5].
However, in the first century, recall the words of Christ, “And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to show him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said to them, See you not all these things? Verily, I say to you, there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.” [Mat. 24:1, 2]. The second temple, as it existed in the first century, was built by Herod the Great, the Edomite king of Judea. The temple and the city of Jerusalem ruled over by Edom were totally laid waste by the army of the Roman Empire in 70 CE. Sixty to sixty-five years later, 130-135 CE, the Roman Emperor Hadrian visited the site of what was Jerusalem, and remarked that one would never know from looking at it that a great city had once stood there. The Romans built their city Aelia capitalina, c. 135 CE, on Jerusalem’s site after Hadrian’s visit. It was named in honor of Hadrian, whose clan name was Aelius.
God doesn’t look lightly upon those who delight in the calamity of others, especially when it is their brother Israel. “Whoso mocks the poor reproaches his Maker: and he that is glad at calamities shall not be unpunished.” [Pro. 17:5].
Recall from the Feature article, Back To Square One, that it was Edom in the person of King Herod that had all the children in the area of Bethlehem two years of age and under killed by the sword. [See Mat. 10:34]. Christ was his target. But, it is Christ at his return that shall avenge the children of Israel. All Edom shall be destroyed.
Verse 15: For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as you have done, it shall be done to you: your reward shall return upon your own head.
Verse 16: For as you have drunk upon my holy mountain [Jerusalem], so shall all the nations drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and they shall swallow down, and they shall be as though they had not been.
The prophet Isaiah in Chapter 34 also wrote of this in the eighth century BCE. "Come near, you nations, to hear; and hearken, you people: let the Earth hear, and all that is therein; the world [Heb. tebel, the inhabited Earth], and all things that come forth of it. For the indignation of the LORD is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he has utterly destroyed them, he has delivered them to the slaughter [see Rev. 16:16];
“Their slain also shall be cast out, and their stink shall come up out of their carcasses, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood. And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll [see Rev. 6:14]: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falls off from the vine, and as a falling from the fig tree [see Mat. 24:32];
“For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea [Edom], and upon the people of my curse, to judgment [see Mal. 1:1-5, Rom. 9:13]. The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD has a sacrifice in Bozrah [capital city of ancient Idumea, and by extension the capital of their one world government], and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea. And the unicorns [Biblical scholars believe this to be the oryx rather than the mythical animal] shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness. For it is the day of the LORD's vengeance, and the year of recompenses for the controversy [Heb. riyb, strife, dispute] of Zion." [Isa. 34:1-8; see Zionists]. The dispute of Zion references Edom's wresting the birthright inheritance from his brother Israel through deceit and lies, wars both foreign and domestic, military and financial. [See Star Symbol First Zionist Congress 1897].
This ties in with what we read in Revelation 16, when Edom shall be given blood to drink. “And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and the fountains of waters, and they became blood. And I heard the angel of the waters say, You are righteous O Lord, which are, was and shall be [see Heb. 13:8], because you have judged thus. For they shed the blood of saints and prophets, and you have given them blood to drink, for they are worthy.” [Rev. 16:4-6].
Verse 17: But upon mount Zion [Jerusalem] shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob [all the nations of Israel, see Rom. 11:25, 26] shall possess their possessions.
Possess their possessions refers to the birthright inheritance that Edom took from the hand of Israel because of our foolish and delinquent behavior. Edom had accomplished this by the first century with the House of Judah, and by the time of this prophecy they will have done so with the House of Israel too. What we are told is that all Israel will be purged by God, using Edom to accomplish this, due to our idolatry and rejecting the love of the truth of the word of God. We're in the midst of this process now. First is the House of Israel. Then with babylon the Great, the house of Judah. Ultimately, however, the tares will be gathered and burned, while the children of Israel are, as we read in Mat. 13:30, “ … wheat gathered into his barn …” Christ explained it in verse 43, “Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father.” Obadiah’s verse 17 reflects both of these verses in Matthew.
The parable of the tares, verses 40-43, “As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world [aion, age]. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; and shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth” are what Obadiah writes of in verse 18, and ties back in with verses 1 and 2.
Verse 18: And the house of Jacob shall be a fire [all Israel inclusive of Judah], and the house of Joseph [specifically the House of Israel led by Ephraim and Manasseh] a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble [straw, chaff], and they [Israel] shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau [Edom]; for the LORD has spoken.
As we read of Edom’s Babylon the Great destruction of Jerusalem in Revelation 17, “And the ten horns [the nations of Israel] which you saw upon the beast, these shall hate the whore [Edom], and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. For God has put in their hearts to fulfill his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom to the beast until the words of God shall be fulfilled. [This is Edom’s dominion, the indignation spoken of in Daniel 11]. And the woman which you saw is that great city [Jerusalem], which reigns over the kings of the earth” meaning Jerusalem will be the capital city of Edom’s Babylon the Great. [Rev 17: 16-18].
And in Revelation 18, “And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning …
“And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls! For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, and cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city! And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! [Greek, timiotes, precious and expensive goods, think Upper 5th Avenue, Rodeo Drive, New Bond Street or Avenue des Champs Elysees on steroids] for in one hour is she made desolate.” [Rev. 18:9, 16-19].
Verse 19: And they of the south shall possess the mount of Esau; and they of the plain the Philistines: and they shall possess the fields of Ephraim, and the fields of Samaria: and Benjamin shall possess Gilead.
Verse 20: And the captivity of this host of the children of Israel shall possess that of the Canaanites, even unto Zarephath; and the captivity of Jerusalem, which is in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south.
Verse 21: And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau [Eze. 35]; and the kingdom shall be the LORD's.
This marks the return of Judah and Israel, the 144,000 of Revelation 7, to their land once again after the events of the Apocalypse. Also, Judah will possess the land that was ancient Edom’s, which lay just to the south of Judah as well as the land, the plain to the Mediterranean. Ephraim, the kingly line of the House of Israel will regain her land, and the lands of Samaria. And Benjamin will repossess her lands eastward of the Jordan River.
There are many verses in the Old Testament that talk about this time, post-Apocalypse when the children of the House of Israel and the House of Judah will be brought back together in their land by God. It is the day of atonement for Israel. “Thus says the Lord GOD, Behold I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen where they’ve gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them to their own land, and I will make them one nation upon the mountains of Israel ….” [Eze. 37:21, 22].
“In that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen [see Jer. 30:9; Eze. 37:24], and close up the breach thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old; that they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen [Heb, gowy, this references the nations of Israel, see Psa. 2:8, not heathens or gentiles], which are called by my name, says the LORD that does this. Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that sows seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt. And I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, say the LORD your God.” [Amos 9:11-15].
Joshua [Hebrew meaning Yehovah is salvation], a descendant of Joseph, the kingly line of the House of Israel, led Israel across the Jordan River into the land promised to Abraham after their captivity in Egypt. The second time Israel enters the land promised to them, it will be by Jesus [Greek meaning Yehovah is salvation] Christ, our LORD, once again at the beginning of the Millennium of peace. “Behold, at that time I will undo all that afflict you, and I will save her that halts [Heb. tsala’, limping from weariness, fatigue], and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame. And at that time I will bring you again, even in the time that I gather you [Mat. 13:30 above]: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the Earth, when I turn back your captivity before your eyes, says the LORD.” [Zep. 3:19, 20; see Rev. 14:1].
In the last verse of Obadiah, he mentions saviors, [Heb. yasha, deliverer]. The mount of Sion, in context means the authority of those of Israel, judging over Esau, or Edom. Likely this refers to those of the first resurrection judging not only Edom, but among the nations of the Earth during the Millennium. “Blessed and holy is he that has part in the first resurrection [the first-fruits]: on such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign [Greek, basileuo, to exercise kingly power and authority] with him a thousand years.” [Rev. 20:6].
“And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.” [Micah 4:3; also Isa. 2:4, Isa. 11; Zec. 9:16, 17]. Contrast this with Edom who lives by the sword today, and our world perpetually at war since Edom initiated 9/11.
In Summary:
The events in Obadiah are at the end of what began thousands of years ago in the book of Genesis with Jacob and Esau. [See Gen. 25:23-26]. Esau sold the birthright inheritance to his brother Jacob for a bowl of stew. And since the first century CE, the beginning of the Christian era, Edom, who lives by the sword, has made every effort to get it back. Because we of Jacob, both Judah and Israel, have forsaken our birthright and covenant over the past two millennia or so, Edom has gained control of it through our carelessness. [See the Sneakers article, A LIfe And Death Pickle Of A Predicament]. And while all Israel will be purged again, for 42 months because we have made Christ our enemy [Isa. 63:10], when our chastising is finished, Edom shall be punished mightily for his deeds for putting his hand on that which God gave to Israel. This will mark the end of the Christian age and usher in the Millennium.
Then, Israel shall be gathered from all over the Earth, and returned to her blessing on mount Sion, and Christ shall reign on the Earth for a period of 1000 years of peace. “And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again, the second time, to recover the remnant of his people [see Luke 1:68] which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathos, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel [the House of Israel], and gather together the dispersed of [the House of] Judah from the four corners of the Earth.” [Isa. 11:11, 12]. This is the time spoken of in the parable of the tares, gathering the wheat into the barn in Matthew 13:30. It is the time of atonement for both the House of Israel and the House of Judah. [Heb. 8:8]. This is the second time all Israel is recovered. As noted above, the first time was when they were brought out of Egypt.
Pathos is Upper Egypt, Cush refers to southern Egypt, Elam is a part of Persia, and Shinar is Babylonian Mesopotamia. Along with Assyria these were all part of ancient territories in which the children of Israel had been in captivity. All Israel had been slaves in Egypt. Beginning in 732 BCE, the House of Israel was taken captive by the Assyrians. And later the House of Judah had been taken captive by Babylon. This is telling us that God will gather the remnant of Israel, the 144,000 who have survived the Apocalypse [see Rev. 7:4], from wherever they are and return them again to their ancient lands as promised in his covenant with Abraham, ushering in a thousand years of peace.
What Christ was foretelling in the parable of the tares is what is contained in the writings of the Old Testament prophets, including Obadiah, regarding all Israel. And while the tares, Edom, will be burned up and gone, the remnant of all Israel, the children of the kingdom, will rejoice in peace by the hand of our LORD again. It is “the times of refreshing” the apostle Peter spoke of in chapter three of the Book of Acts.
However, the purging of our nations at the hand of Edom stands between us, and Christ’s return. Therefore, it is incumbent on each of us individually to get back to the love of the truth of the word of God, the good ground, living our lives accordingly that we may be kept from Israel’s second purging. Edom, and Israel too, have missed the mark. For what both are missing is that the true birthright and inheritance are of the Spirit, in the kingdom of God, and are not found in the kingdoms and empires of men.
All things written in the word of God will come to pass, for “… that which is determined shall be done.” Therefore, “who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

The Catholic Church "downgraded" Christ's status [more fake news from the author of the lie], as if they could perform this nonsense. It appears they are oblivious to the prophecies spoken by Yehovah against these latter day liars and deceivers. This evil deceit is driven by the Zionists [Beast] and the Roman church [False Prophet]. According to the Vatican, our Lord and Savior, is no longer the son of the living God, who is the God of the living, as in eternal life. [See the Sneakers article, One, Two, Three More Or Less]. The Roman church considers him to be a Talmudic teacher. Thus, by their own admission, any claim the Roman church made to being a Christian church has vanished. It's one more reason to leave Catholicism. "And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods." [Dan. 11:36]. The road to perdition has been paved. But, we haven't heard about this at all in the media have we? If you are a Catholic reading this, ask your priest if he knows Christ was downgraded from the son of the living God to a satanic Talmudic teacher by Rome. Nevertheless, when the time comes, it will be proclaimed to all by Babylon the Great.
Keep in mind, the Book of Revelation talks about both the Beast and the False Prophet. So, it is no coincidence that the US Supreme Court is comprised only of Catholics and "Jews," but not one Protestant these days. It is interesting that the Protestant denominations, apparently now sitting in third place only above the fourth place Muslims, having been led down the primrose path by Santa and the Easter Bunny for centuries now, refer to the Roman church as the "mother church." And the Roman "mother" church is saying that "Judaism" [in reality, the Satanic Talmudic teachings of Zionism, not the orthodox Jews who still adhere to the Torah], is the "elder brother" religion to Rome. Edom, who has had dominion over the House of Judah, the Jews, since the first century through the Herods, and in the end-times in Revelation 3 are referred to as "the synagogue of Satan who say they are Jews and are not," i.e., Zionists, have infiltrated the Roman church as well. Remember, the HQ of the Zionist/Edomite Talmudic Babylon the Great will be in Jerusalem. [See Dan. 11:36].
And Babylon the Great, the Beast and False Prophet, shall have dominion over Judaism, Christianity and Islam, three religious kingdoms with ties to Jerusalem and Abram/Abraham. [Dan. 7:24]. This is what the Chrislam movement is heading towards. [Antichristdom; also Pope's Chrislam Logo, sounds like something a corporate ad agency would produce; see 2 Cor. 11:3, 4; Gen. 21:10; Gal. 4:21-30]. Having wrapped up Judaism, and most of "Christianity," all they need now is to subdue Islam. On the secular side of the coin, they are using the Christian nations, the House of Israel and their military might and money [financial evisceration] to attack Muslim countries like Syria, Iran and Iraq, while making deals on the other hand with Saudi Arabia and its Arab alliance countries. With Christians and Muslims bashing each other over the head, Edom will emerge victorious. It's not coincidence. It is prophecy being fulfilled before your eyes.
President Trump moved the US embassy to Jerusalem in May 2018, the 70th anniversary of the state of Israel in 1948, making the same point as has the Roman church, i.e., "the permanence of [Zionist] Israel." Of course, as Babylon the Great, they get only three and a half years of "permanence." The US Senate passed a resolution 90-0 [albeit there are 100 US senators], essentially recognizing Judaism's, and therefore Edom's, claim of uninterrupted habition of Jerusalem, which is a historically proven fairy tale myth. Nothing but lies and more lies. Edom is using their cover as "Jews" to maneuver both the religious and secular worlds into position for them to encapsulate Jerusalem, "the great city, Babylon." Remember, the historical capital of Edom is Bozrah, not Jerusalem. Jerusalem has been the capital city of their brother Israel, to whom they sold the birthright. "The [US Senate] resolution notes that for 3,000 years, there has been a continuous Jewish presence in Jerusalem, and it has been Judaism’s holiest city and the focal point of Jewish religious devotion." [US Senate Okays Move To Jerusalem]. This intentionally is a clear and ignorant misrepresentation of the facts, no doubt sold to ignore senators by AIPAC and others. It is a Zionist propaganda myth intended to mislead a gullible, ignorant public. First, less than 3000 years ago, about 597-586 BCE depending on who's counting, all the Jews were removed from Jerusalem by the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar for a period of 70 years of captivity due to their idolatry before they were allowed to return. [See Ezra 2:1]. Therefore, as to Jerusalem being "the focal point of Jewish religious devotion," well, this was hardly the case. It appears the Jew's devotion missed the mark for quite some time, too, before the Babylonian captivity.
"Therefore, thus says the LORD God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever hears of it, both his ears shall tingle. And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab: and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipes a dish, wiping it, and turning it upside down. And I will forsake the remnant of mine inheritance [the House of Judah, as the House of Israel had been divorced about 150 years earlier, hence stretching the line of Samaria, the capital of the Kingdom of Israel, over Jerusalem which lay south of the House of Israel's border], and deliver them into the hand of their enemies [the Babylonians]; and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies; because they have done evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even unto this day. Moreover Manasseh [a king of Judah, though, ironically, the namesake in the last days of the US in Genesis 48, 49] shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; beside his sin wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing evil in the sight of the LORD." [2 Kings 21:12-16]. So much for the US Senate's claim of the Jew's religious fidelity to the word of God. It's pure myth.
Then in 70 CE, the city of Jerusalem, ruled over by the Edomite Herods since 37 BCE by proclamation of the Roman Senate, was totally and completely obliterated. Seems like those of Edom have a way of influencing Senates, then and now. Also remember, Jerusalem was the capital of the Roman province, Judea, under Edomite rule and was not the capital of the nations of Israel. As the first century historian Josephus wrote, “The Romans, though it was a terrible struggle to collect the timber, raised their platforms in twenty-one days. As described before, the whole area was stripped in a circle round the city to a distance of ten miles. The countryside, like the city, was a pitiful sight. For where there once had been a lovely vista of woods and parks, there was nothing but desert and stumps of trees. No one, not even a foreigner who had seen the Old Judea and the glorious suburbs of the city, and now set eyes on her present desolation, could have helped sighing and groaning at so terrible a change. Every trace of beauty had been blotted out by war. And nobody who had known it in the past, and came upon it suddenly, would have recognized the place. For when he was on site [of Jerusalem], he still would have been looking for the city.” [Compare this to the prophecy in Revelation 18:10 and 18:21]. Books of the History of the Jewish [nee, Edomite] War Against the Romans, Flavius Josephus, c. 75-78 CE.
The area remained barren, not one stone upon another, until c.135 CE when the Romans built a ROMAN city on the scoured site, naming it Aelia capitalina, in honour of the Roman emperor. And except for the one Day of Atonement a year, Jews were not allowed into the Roman city under penalty of death. Aelia capitalina remained a Roman city until 638 CE when taken, not by the Jews, but by the Muslims. So for a period of 568 years, there was no Jerusalem for Jews to have a presence in. And the "holy walls" of Jerusalem were built by Suleiman the Magnificent between 1537 to 1541 as mentioned above. They are not a remnant left over from the Edomite Herodian or second temple in the first century as the common apocryphal myth would have us believe. It's all lies. All war is deceit. And it wasn't until the 1948 UN mandate, after the Islamic Ottoman Empire, and the after British Palestine Mandate, that the Jews, a nation-state for the first time in more than 2500 years, had any sort of shared quasi-legal claim to Jerusalem again. And though the establishment of Israel was a prophetic fulfillment in the plan of God, its secular impetus came from the Zionists as orthodox Jews are waiting for the Messiah to set up his kingdom in Jerusalem. So for those of "the synagogue of Satan who claim to be Jews and are not " [Edom, Rev. 3:9] claiming eternal "ownership" of Jerusalem [Zion] due to the alleged 3000 years of "continuous presence" in Jerusalem, well, it's pure poppycock. Control and occupation of Jerusalem [Zion] in this end time is sought after by Israel's brother, the Edomite wolf in sheep's clothing, Babylon the Great. We need to do the prophetic math on this US Senate resolution and law. [Edom Methodology].
The claim that the current day city of Jerusalem belongs to Israel due to 3000 years of continuous presence is a Zionist lie. Remember, the Jews are only one of the 12 nations of Israel. [See Gen. 49]. Jerusalem will not be the capital of Israel until Christ's return when both the Houses of Israel and Judah are one kingdom again as written of by the prophet Ezekiel. [Eze. 37:15-28]. The last time Jerusalem was capital of all Israel was c. 931 BCE at the end of Solomon's rule when Israel was divided into two kingdoms. The Zionists want Jerusalem for their capital, Babylon the Great. Those of Israel descended from Judah were out of Jerusalem for 70 years due to their Babylonian captivity. "Now the rest of the people left in the city [Jerusalem], and the fugitives that fell away to the king of Babylon, with the remnant of the multitude, did Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carry away." [2 Kings 25:11]. Some Jews in the land of Judah, not in Jerusalem, remained behind, but were under Babylonian authority.
Then "Jerusalem," after its total destruction in 70 CE, lay barren until the area became a Roman city, then an Eastern Roman Empire [Byzantine] city, then an Islamic Ottoman city [the 5th head of the beast], and then a British Mandate city until 1948. So for about two-thirds of this alleged 3000 years the Jews have been on the outside looking in. And this does not include the fact that from the return of the Jews to Jerusalem under Cyrus, the city itself was under the successive sovereignty, not of Israel, but of the Persian, Greek and Roman empires, the 2nd, 3rd and 4th heads of the beast, until utterly destroyed in 70 CE. Edom's Babylon the Great is the sixth head of the beast. The second destruction of Edom’s Jerusalem, while to be accomplished in a different manner, will be just as complete as stated in Revelation 18.
The key point to take away from this is that Jerusalem has not been the sovereign capital of Israel since 931 BCE, and won't be again until Christ reunites both the House of Judah and the House of Israel as one kingdom at his return. Until then, from this point forward, Jerusalem will be under the auspices of Edom, the sixth head of the beast, exactly as written in the Biblical record's prophecies. 2 As the Deuteronomy or 5th Book of Psalms, Psalms 107-150, the prophetic Psalm 137 was written centuries before the Babylonian captivity of Judah. Verse 7 references the circumstances of Jerusalem and Judah's captivity in the seventh century BCE. Cyrus and the Persian empire, the second head of the beast with seven heads, supplanted the Babylonian empire of Nebuchadnezzar. Thus, the first Babylon was finished. Daniel's great image description of Babylon as the head of gold of the beast received a "deadly wound." It was Cyrus who allowed those of Judah to return to Judea. However, Psalm 137 verse 8 references the future Babylon the Great, "O daughter of Babylon who is to be destroyed ...." So, verse 7 is now historical and verse 8 remains prophetic. Together, they book-end the two Babylons, while tying Edom to both of them.
